Had a good chuckle at Warner and then remembered Boucher and felt a little sombre.

But then remembered Boucher is an admitted racist who has been charged for gross misconduct and chuckled again?

Some great talent to tune into here. Pant. Iyer. Potts.

Quality.
Matthew Potts trundling away south of 130km/h reminds me how myopic our selectors have been for Ashes tours by continuing to ignore medium-fast bowlers. Adam Dale, Trent Copeland, Chadd Sayers. Would all have been weapons over there.

Mitch Marsh took a 5-fa in our last Test there. Worth noting.

It’s a pity he tends to give his wicket away cheaply, because he’s so damn good to watch while he’s on.

Also, a Pant-Jadeja partnership is always a good time. Brutal stuff

Oh my God, did not realise Chris Silverwood was Sri Lanka's coach now. 6 Tests in a row for him against Australia without a win in the last 8 months.

35 runs off, hey?

Most expensive over ever in test cricket. Broad has form, Yuvraj Singh smacked him for 6 sixes in one over at the 2007 T20 World Cup.

Test cricket in England this 'summer' has been consistently inconsistent.
It seems that every time England bat (3 tests NZ, 1 test India) they lose 5 quick wickets then some combination of Root, Bairstow and Stokes scores big.

And in every one of those 4 tests they have batted 4th and successfully chased down a difficultish target after a poor start.

Apparently they're using a new type of Duke's ball this summer that offers nothing after 30 overs. It's why every team has had early collapses and then a big Mitchell/Blundell, Bairstow/someone or Jadeja/Rishabh partnership.

Was this a deliberate decision at ECB level, or did Dukes just decide to change their production processes for some reason? Presumably Covid related?

Probably a dukes thing, I don't think it's that uncommon, I'm pretty sure Kookaburra made some change recently as well.
