He and Finch shouldn't be there. Finch is past it as an international cricketer and Smith's strength is longer form cricket. I'd be permanently resting Smith from T20I matches as there are better options available.

Sam's averages 27 in ODDs and 26 in FC cricket so it's not like he's a typical bowler with the stick.

This is just a math thing (kinda like how people always talk about hitting 8 legs out of 10 on multis).

If the odds were 50-50 between "good" score and "bad" score there are going to be approx 10x as many combinations of 9 bad one good vs combos of 10 bad, 10 good, and many more combinations of 8 fails/2 successes than the full 10 failures.

Plus we ignore the games when the good score comes from an opener (like Warner vs Zimbabwe) and we just see the other failures.
