Qld's tailenders inexplicably kept farming the strike the last few overs 😂 Renshaw hardly saw any deliveries from the 44th over until the last one. Left him with a lot to do and not wanting to take singles to expose the #11.

Great execution from Kelly in that last over, he should be Man of the Match. 33 with the bat and 3-33 with clutch bowling in the last over.

I wasn't a big fan of Voges early on, but gee he's got the boys up and about.
If only Australia played with the same passion.

I reckon the Scorchers at full strength would really push Australia in 20/20.
Our bowling attack of Richo, Dorf, Kelly, Agar and Mills is better that Australia's IMO.

We won the last World Cup.

Didn't even make it to the next stage in this one.

What happened?
Last World Cup was pretty much decided by the coin tosses. We were the lucky beneficiaries.

Any team where Matt Kelly can't break into the bowling attack is seriously strong.

Richardson, Behrendorff, Tye, Paris
, Kelly, Hardie, Green, Mills, Morris, Marsh

That's a ridiculously deep fast bowling lineup.

Apart from having luck with the coin toss, we pretty well won
on the back of Warner and Marsh with other players giving cameo's

This year, we've batted, bowled and fielded poorly.
The side was pretty much the same with David replacing Smith.

The selections have been baffling to say the least.

Oh, the coach got knifed as well.

Baffling decisions

1) lead up matches in any sport is designed to settle your line up. So why play Cam Green (as an opener no less) if he isn't actually going to be named in squad. Just bizarre
2) England in the 70 's & 80's picked a captain then picked the team. Australia picked their team from which a captain was selected. Not this time - we selected a captain who hasn't scored a run in 3 years because I guess the selectors felt he was best captain. What a croc of crap.
3) Cummins is not, has never been & will never be a T20 player. Ridiculous policy.
4) Playing ur last match needing to win comfortably- cue taking wickets. White ball - Adelaide where's there's swing - Starc's one wood. Don't be silly - we drop him to bring in another into the pich bowler. Completely non- sensical

Bloody stupid decisions by people who should know better but obviously don't. Heads should roll.

Headlines can be deceiving, but if this even half represents Maxwell's feeling then he should need have been representing Australia in this tournament in the first place.

"While historically teams would have dwelled on a World Cup loss for months, if not years, nowadays there is simply too much international cricket on the docket for the Aussies to care according to Maxwell."

If the same sentiments are shared by other players then should be replaced with someone who does care.

That's the journalist's summation, if you read the Maxwell quotes he does express regret at not winning...

And I'm pretty sure some supporters agree with his point about there being so much cricket before and after the world cup it is pretty easy to move on.

Too much luck involved in t20 cricket to care really. Some days you get it, some days it gets you. No point worrying in the aftermath about things you can’t control. Deep down they knew their bowlers couldn’t get it done and they refused to pick the better ones in the sheds for reasons..

It is worth noting that Maxwell was interviewed Australia were still (slimly) alive in the tournament. Contrasting his comments in this article with those of Alex Hales after England's game last night it is easy to see who valued the tournament more.
