So instead of picking the seam bowling allrounder who averages 44 with the bat at first class level they are going to pick a (mainly) opener who averages 37 and bat him 6? Makes so much sense.

Bowled well in Bangladesh for his 2 tests there back in 2017. Often being 12th man for white ball and missing so many fc matches not ideal and hard to know where he's at red ball wise. Left arm orthodox spinner def be useful partnering Lyon in sub continent.

Fair point.

I don't like that Agar is our best option after Lyon though. The selectors probably favoured him because he can contain one end.

Just saw the Zampa thing. I have no objection to the mankad if the batter is excessively backing up, but Rogers was not. He was absolutely entitled to expect the ball to be bowled when he left the crease, Zampa just tried to manufacture a run out.
