Not much love for Foster the people on hear...surprising. As mentioned part of the enjoyment of going to a big music festival is checking out bands that you aren't that familiar with and finding some new favourite tunes.

Would you spend 165 bucks for that though? You could check out up and coming australian talent for 15-20 bucks at a live music venue.

Good point but it's a combination of seeing a few of the bigger name bands, plus a few that I've only heard a little bit of. Yes it is a fair bit of money but if you compare it to say pyramid rock or falls it is far better value. Yes you get camping in the 3 day festivals but how much is that worth??? Plus this lineup is just as good if not better, depending on your personal music preferences

Sydney sold out on the Big Day Out website but tickets are still available on Ticketmaster. That's about it, everywhere else still has tickets because of the shit line-up so far.

I am always perplexed when people complain about having to watch bands their friends want to see, half the fun at a festival is going exploring, seeing bands you may not have heard before, I see my friends at the door and at various points throughout, you dont have to be joined at the hip all day

One of the promoters is not going to be part of the Big Day Out anymore, not sure what this will mean for future festivals,

I am always perplexed when people complain about having to watch bands their friends want to see, half the fun at a festival is going exploring, seeing bands you may not have heard before, I see my friends at the door and at various points throughout, you dont have to be joined at the hip all day

It's not so bad, you see some new bands, meet some interesting people have a couple drinks then meet up with your mates and tell then what THEY missed out on.

I'm with you mate. I'd quite happily split off from the group with a mate or two, but walking around by yourself all day would suck.
