It depends very much on what the weather will be. If there is any chance of a bucketing then only one tall will come in to replace him if he doesn't come up, spare the thought.

My guess would be Tippett as we has been playing the season in the SANFL.

Tippet being from Qld would go as a travelling emergency anyway so might play

If they're both fit, then Maric by a mile. If you have a look at Tippetts recent stats for West Adelaide he looks to be really struggling in the ruck.

How exactly is Maric underdone? Half a game two weeks back, and a whole game last week. 30 hitouts and 15 possessions is a pretty decent return if you ask me.

We will be in all kinds of trouble if we go down that path. Kenny is not a ruckman, he can do a little bit around the ground but anything else would be a disaster. Maric while underdone could do what's required, keeping in mind McGregor is still coming back from injury and probably wouldn't have the tank to go in the ruck at this stage anyway.

Meesen hurt his knee in the NAB Cup. He's due back in about two or three weeks I think. Those guys you mentioned are OK, but try this on for size: Ricciuto, Hentschel, Biglands, Johncock, Porplyzia, Reilly, Massie and Bode who - apart from Massie and maybe Porps those guys are all definite starting 18. Add to that we will be missing Hinge who played his first game last weekend and there are doubts over Welsh, Burton and Hudson. There's also Sellar, Meesen, Archard, Mackay, McIntyre and Gill on the sidelines. I have no doubt Meese or McIntyre would be playing if they weren't injured based on the injuries to everyone else.

Also, we play Richmond in two weeks, so give us time to accumulate more injuries by then.

As has been previously stated, he is currently injured.

He was drafted at the same time as Maric, only a month or two ahead of Griffin (taken in the Rookie draft, rather than the National Draft), so to say he has been in the system longer than this pair is incorrect.

You are correct in stating that he was taken ahead of them, but his deeds on the field have not matched those of Maric in particular and arguably Griffin (who has progressed significantly this year).

Tippett is the only one who would have less experience than Meesen at this stage.

Kenny will play though IMO, but from the goalsquare, not ruck.

I look at it this way, we need a big bloke to go with Charman, and leave Griffin to go with McDonald. Both Ivan and Kurt are big strong lads but I give the edge to Maric just because of his experience. I also think that Maric is a better tap ruckman than Tippett. In fact at this stage I think Maric is a MUCH better player than Kurt.

Maric's downside is that he has only played a game and a half of football this year and he really has had a VERY interrupted pre-season.

A positive is that he has some match fitness since he has played for the last 2 weeks. Sure it was with Port reserves but to get match fitness you don't need to play at a high level. Just get a few touches so you work through the rust.

After all that dribble, I am saying I would go with a half fit Maric over Tippett.

Tippett is still only 19 isn't he? Maric is the more mature player, I'd give him the crack myself. Wouldn't think that Tippett would disgrace himself though.
