Ma Shitu, a Chinese writer and politician died on 28th March at the astounding age of 109, having been born in January 1915. It's hard to fathom that somebody who only died this week was living when the Australian and New Zealand forces landed at Gallipoli in April of that year and when the Lusitania sank a few weeks later off Ireland.

Tried to read this book, found it to be very bland and boring. Need to give it another go I know but it can wait.
