BigFooty Phantom Draft 2004

[The Hitman]

We did this in 2001, and it was very successful. Hilly came to me saying we should do it again this year, and I'm willing to run it.

However, we have less than a week and we have to finalise the amount of draft picks clubs have and who is representing each club.

So the best way to do this is over MSN messenger. If you want to be your club's recruiting manager, PM me your MSN address and we'll get this baby started. I will get back to you if your application has been successful and once we have all 16, we'll get going.

A few ground rules - you need to be reguarly on MSN messenger or accessible via email. If I ask you for a pick on MSN or via email, you need to get back to me within two hours during business hours Monday-Friday, or by 11am if I ask you overnight. if you have an excuse like an exam or something, you should consider if it is worth you doing it, or tell me beforehand.

For the sake of getting this done ASAP and before the actual draft, please get me the pick selection quickly, and have a lost drawn up beforehand.

Also, any father/son picks already selected are also done for this exercise, and you have to pick up the maximum available number of picks - no passing for the pre-season draft; pretend it doesn't exist.

I will be Hawthorn rep, even though I know GOALden Hawk is an expert, but he gets to talk about the draft all the time, and I'm a selfish prick.

That's what we did last year with I think 2 minutes but to get everyone together at short notice and avoid server busy messages will be difficult.

If nobody does Port I'll be online most of the week, but I'm not that interested this year so if someone else wants to do it, go for it.

You need to PM me what club you want to do - don't just PM me saying you'll do whatever club - I want supporters of the clubs to be that club's recruiting manager.

The draft will start as soon as I can garner the 16 recruiting managers. If you're unavailable for long periods of the time during the week without access to MSN/email, don't do it. This isn't going to be on a particular night, because there is no way known we'll all be able to be online at the same time.

Actually, we'll run the draft in a new thread once the recruiters have been decided, but still send me your MSN/email address so I contact you when it is your pick. Please check the thread reguarly, especially if you know your pick is coming up. Hopefully we can start this in the morning.

i should have read the whole first post! But if a team isn't taken i'll happily fill in and take them, last year i did sydney and got some handy players (Trotter @ 29, Stanton at 40 something).

Don't know that anyone at Geelong will do it. Without a pick in the top 30 and not being on the lookout for any particular type of player means a lack of interest and we'll take whoever is best come our pick.

So if you want to do it, fine by me. Take the best available at 32 (but not a specialist ruck), N.Ablett (f/s) and Egan (if gone, see pick 32) with our last choice.

This is ridiculous. I am an absolute expert at this draft, i have been studying and i have connections. My brother played with Juddy, my dad is best friends with Rodney Eade. My Uncle is the Bulldogs doctor.
