Am I only the one who loves this from the big Irish bastard?

For too long we've been too nice. It's about time we had some mongrel.

Make the pretty boys earn everything. Will hold us in good stead.

It's good to see the white line fever but save it for opposition.

The problem with Keane is this habit of his overdoing the aggression after the incident has and will result in goals against us given the position he plays, it's one thing to be hard at it but he has shown an inclination to many times to want to go on with it...needs to temper it or else it will be costly.

I'm happy concede a few goals here and there, due to additional aggression tbh.

White line fever is hard to turn off.

I'd rather they train on the line rather than go easy on each other.

He's not king hitting anyone but making them earn their contests.

All the talk on this form is we are too nice and need to gain a competitive streak but everyone is getting their knickers in a knot.

Anybody want to comment on this? I mean, I see Dawson as proven Skipper, and Keays as an excellent choice vice captain, but phasing out of Smithers and the form of some others leaves a hole. Do we just add ANB and call it a day? Drop RO'B, Laird (who is not leadership material IMO, despite being a gun for 6 of the last 7 years), Murphy, Milera and Hinge off the list?

Hard to know from the outside but surely guys not in, or barely in, the best 23 should be eliminated immediately. Max and Fog play like leadership types. I’m not sure about Keays, he just seems flat out running his own game.

Fog certainly stays in, but he didn't have a good performance as skipper in the 2nd Hawks game. Also wilted big-time under pressure in the 2nd Showdown last year

But you have to let someone like him grow

"Murphy - played solely for the A team which was interesting. Was very quiet for the first two quarters before getting into it in the third. Hit a lovely inside 50 pass to Toby Murray but also missed a reasonably easy set shot which we’ve seen before."
He took this advice to heart

"ALWAYS HAVE FUN. BUT TRAIN LIKE IT'S
THE REAL THING."

Train how you play and play how you train, it’s automatic with the big fella.

Absolutely love the way he plays the game and he is still learning.
Hoping for more big steps taken from him this year.

Absolutely. An aggressive mongrel defender who can win his position who takes the game on is worth their weight in gold.

For the others in the team on the end of it... Toughen up princesses.
