100 percent better kick than Butts or Murray. He seems to see openings and goes for it. Sure he's going to f&$k up sometimes but he will definitely generate offensive rebound. Playing it 100 percent safe all the time is how we get into stagnant funk and slow play.

Keane is a significantly better kick than Murray, and one of the best kicks in the team. He's creative and the coaches (rightly) trust him to generate scoring chains from the back half.

He's pretty aggressive with his kick outs.

I'm here for it though, why the hell not. Try and hit a 55m spear. Try to get it over the first defensive line to Murphy standing on his own near the boundary. Run around the defender. Aim for the wing. Try a Torp. Find the oppo captain and kick it to the moon so he has to stand under it while Tex thunders down towards Half forward.

Let's do this.

Thanks for that mate, great to be able to confirm or question what conclusions we drew from the telecast. A couple of points stand out to me.

1. For 2 guys playing in the dominant side, and playing high half forward and wing, Murphy and Jones simply don’t get enough footy to be a threat at AFL level. In the first half when blue scored 15 goals or so, Jones had 3 possessions playing on the wing. Hopefully ANB and Sholl take those 2 spots but we really need to take learnings from early last year when they offered nothing in our dismal start.

2. In the yellow both Schoey and Taylor battled really well under immense pressure and must be very close to being included in the best squad. Very impressed with Schoey considering his last year and, as mentioned by another poster, Taylor is a much better option than Murphy at half forward.

3. Our high trades and draft picks from the last few years all look awesome. Tillthorpe, Rachelle, Dawson and Rankine all have AA potential (even Curtin down the track), while most of our lower trades and picks, ANB, Peatling and Soligo especially, all have very high floors. Its a massive improvement from our list management team over their previous 6 years.

4. Burgess and Strachan still being on the list is just a mistake. McAndrew already has more AFL traits than Strachan, and keeping Gollant would have to be a better option than Burgess.

We will have to accept that occasionally Keane won't come off with a kick in but him seeing the option and taking it before it is covered is almost elite. It will make us much harder to defend out of our D50, it may take teams the whole season to go " shit, lets not all line up near the boundary 55 metres out to the right, they've changed"

Whoever can get the ball back into play the quickest. Waiting for a designated kicker to get to the goal square makes it that much harder to find a target that can get and go.

I don't see any stats for Lachlan McAndrew (who technically isn't a listed crows player so fair enough), although thought he played pretty well and got the best of ROB in multiple moments. Anyone got any predictions on whether we can get him on the list, and how? Could he actually be better than ROB? Can we deslist Burgess pre-season to make room! haha

Fair call, I like it. I just thought there would be someone who might be back there with a weapon. But it seems okay that between the two choices (weapon kick or quick kick) the latter choice is our best option with the lineup as is.
