Bet Taylor was happy he didn't get picked by Sydney. 2 times 2km trials 4 minutes apart???

He'd be coming in for his first finish being overtaken by the guys finishing their second

Re AFL/NFL seasons some of the longest in world?

Phuttttt! The AFL might stretch to 30 weeks at most with a NSW/Qld Round 0, Gather Round, the mid season bye and a pre-finals dead weekend stretching out the old 26 week season.

The EPL runs from mid-August to late May. For this season that’s 283 days inclusive, 40 weeks, or just over 9 months. One to a few weeks more than this for the FA Cup finalists and/or those with UEFA competitions.

While many players sit idle on International weekends, this is offset many times by their additional EPL & UEFA mid-weekend games.

Pity the AFL does go for 9 months, thereby reducing the period for off-season drivel on BF.

We are discussing sports, not soccer.

Think you might have misread the article. It says the pre-season is the longest, not the playing season itself.

I don't think anyone cares, soccer has no style, no substance and is played by a bunch of ponces who act like they have been shot at the slightest contact.

Stupid Soccer Twats

I have watched the game. Keane is a natural. Huge plus keeping him, he reads the play like Stewart and McGovern. . Peatling and Draper make us instantly faster. We are in for an exciting year if our stars stay fit.
Need Thilthorpe to become dominant to really make a fist of things.

Fair call, I like it. I just thought there would be someone who might be back there with a weapon. But it seems okay that between the two choices (weapon kick or quick kick) the latter choice is our best option with the lineup as is.
I reckon they rate Keane’s ability to kick at different angles and take risks by foot

I reckon it’s underrated due to occasional error which happens when you take risks

Helps that he’s in the area , I’d have Keane and Hinge taking them mainly and Max also a bit

When oppo kick a point from a set shot you have the luxury of choosing your kicker. But when it's a general play shot, watching us wait for Smith or Mackay to get back to take the kick and be forced to bomb ling to contests used to infuriate me.

I'm a big fan of having Keane take our kick-ins, but it may be worth giving him some very simple instructions. Nothing too complicated that might slow down his otherwise quick decision-making, but maybe things like "don't try to hit a 25m pass if an opposition player is nearby" or "don't go straight down the guts if it means you have to weight the ball perfectly".

I don't see any stats for Lachlan McAndrew (who technically isn't a listed crows player so fair enough), although thought he played pretty well and got the best of ROB in multiple moments. Anyone got any predictions on whether we can get him on the list, and how? Could he actually be better than ROB? Can we deslist Burgess pre-season to make room! haha

At this stage, there's nothing we can do. Delisting Burgess wouldn't help, his contract lasts until the end of the year.

If we get a season-ending injury, or an early retirement (ala Sloane last year), we can try to take him in the mid-season draft, but everyone else will have access to him too.

Would be great to encourage Smithers to retire before the mid season draft - give him a big send off at AO etc, then if the big fella is still there for the mid season draft, grab him then.

Keane's problem is when he takes too long and the oppo can read his brain and intercept. If you've taken too long to consider it, you shouldn't go short.

He very rarely does that, though. His real strength is the way he sees an option and just goes for it.
