Here's my prediction:

This entire board, me included, will continue to get our hopes up with with every passing day until trade week rolls around. We will then throw the mother of all tantrums when some other flog club throws 700k at him and we refuse to match it. We will then spend the off-season raging about how we failed to add any quality to our list and other clubs are going to overtake us.

Then when the season rolls around we will all collectively jizz our pants when our first rounder blind turns another player in the NAB cup, or he hits Jack Riewoldt with a mm perfect bullet.

Like clockwork.

You forgot to mention the complaints about us not even trying.

We will walk him to the PSD. And the Crows can get nothing. It's not a zero-sum game for the Cats. We already don't have him.

We really aren't in the position to do this as another club would easily pay the sort of money that we would be willing to pay
Motlop can just as easily walk into the PSD and we are faced with the same problem
