It's not fair to them as individuals but it's the cruel reality of the sport.

The players are assets of the club and if that asset is not fit-for-purpose then it needs to be replaced.

Sadly for Martin, his recurrent soft tissue injuries have been the only thing holding him back from a stellar career unfortunately - his class and ability have never been in doubt. If he can come back and be managed appropriately - he ( like last year) will be a big part of any success the team has. I really like Martin and wish him all the best - for his sake as well as the Club's- same for Marchbank - who seems to be cursed with same levels of fragility/bad luck.

Still get this feeling Moir will debut gather round

Looks like an ace/joker wild in poker terms up our sleeve this bloke - how good would it be to unearth a goal kicking machine half way through the season...and tell teh competition - now cover him as well - good luck.

Apologies my mistake hit the wrong button. Agreed though as I don’t want a lecture 😂

I think the virus is not necessarily connected with his injury... And he will be fine once he gets a bit of confidence with games under his belt... And once Marchy is playing with his normal energy he is an automatic inclusion and we will definitely need him coming up against the 2 Sydney sides and Port Adelaide where there are at least two genuine gorilla key forwards

On Sam Walsh:

“There’s been an exorbitant amount of speculation about him, but we’ve stayed pretty present, we’ve been pretty clear on when we hoped to give people updates. He’s progressed well, he’s back into modified training, he’ll jump into full training next week. If he’s able to complete his next couple of weeks, then he’ll be available to play.
“He’s stepping through the gears pretty well, he’s meeting the requirements we’re asking of him, but at the same time, we’ve got to respect where he’s at and make sure he gets a top up from the work he’s already done over pre-season.”

On Jesse Motlop:

“Jesse won’t come into the side, he’s had a slightly different preparation and interruption to his program. Based on what we’re trying to bring in, we’re going down a different path. He pulled up a little bit tight the other day, so we’ll go a little more conservative with him.”

Out: David Cuningham (calf) :(

Hamstring
Not crazy to be unable to run for a few weeks because of the toe, and then get some hamstring tightness after getting back into it. Sucks though.

This game is getting harder and harder to survive. The amount of aerobic and anaerobic capacity these guys have to have, and the training required to get and maintain that fitness. Add to that the constant impacts on the body, in a way it's surprising there aren't more injuries.
