I think the Gibbs scenario is interesting from a PR/spin perspective.

If there's some truth in it ... how do you think it'd be handled .... making assumptions - but lets say that the 2 clubs have come to some sort of in-principle agreement to getting something done with Gibbs, a contracted player.

I reckon you'd start to slowly socialise the idea with the masses. The very typical footy spin of playing the wife and kids card so as to not alienate Blues supporters. Start with some flimsy denials while everyone gets used to it. The media will start soon on stories of how it makes sense to both clubs so the the Crows supporters get used to what they'll have to give up to get him.

I feel like we're in week 2 of a carefully managed 5 week spin campaign by both the Crows and the Blues.

Brilliant and I suspect is quite possible

Agree 100% haha great post :)

Seems to me that where's smoke, there's fire RE Gibbs (the jungle drums are beating louder)

If he wants to return to SA for family reasons, we shouldn't stand in his way, and respect his partner's wishes.

What-ever happened to Gibbs wanting to be a "one club player?"
Bloody sheilas!
They're more trouble than they are worth.

Geez....the same things going to happen with the Carlton women's team. Their partners will eventually want to go home to mum.
Hendersook! ;)

Wow PR is complicated! .... I'd have just issued a short tweet saying we've traded Bryce to the Phillies.

Trading Gibbs isn't like trading Fev, not all Blues fans/members will be distraught by his departure.

I don't think supporters or members should be mollycoddled over list management decisions/trades. No one player is bigger than the club.

I wasn't distraught at all when Fev departed!

HE RETURNS!
Fill us in on everything pls. Gibbs, Tomlinson, Marchbank, Tuohy etc.
Please and thank you

Difficult without jeopardising the club's position. I'll say the following

Having pick 5 puts us in a very strong position. More than one club wants it and wants it badly

Gibbs - could be a thing. His people are saying he wants to stay but there is enough smoke for there to maybe be a fire. Adelaide's first round pick won't be enough if so

More delistings after trade period

Levi was re-signed very cheaply. There are no nibbles

Tuohy - probably goes. Probably NM

We won't get Mitchell

Another 3 or 4 for one deal is on the cards.

Let's hope they haven't hired the PR amateurs that ran the "focus on footy" debarcle :p

Were we ever close for Omera? Did we pull out or did he?
