Even in the extremely unlikely chance Jack Riewoldt would leave The Tigers, there's no way on God's Green Earth would Richmond trade him to us.

Jack is a fantastic player and would be a great leader in the forward line to bring on the young ones. Huge get if we did.
I agree. I have been to quite a few tiggers games and I have noticed he works a lot harder than he gets credit for. Not the selfish brat he was early in his career. Wouldn't say no at the right price.

Jack Riewoldt? :)

Not for us at this stage. Not a 28 year old Riewoldt.
Hard to make sense of that rumour, but that's not to say we wouldn't have had a chat. Why not?

Staggering that anyone here could even think this to be a good move .
If it were to happen I'd swap sides as it would only prove Richmond have more idea than Carlton .
Seriously , the list build underway is about a lot more than just round 1 next year ...

Hey all,

Through I would pass something on that may be of interest, now I'm not saying "confirmed" or "it's 100%" but will tell you what I have seen.
I have a family member who is close to a high ranking offical at Carlton, they showed me an SMS from the offical saying " we will be looking hard at Cam Ellis-Yolman".
There were a few other names on the text that people have discussed like O'Meara but these names have already been talked about, it didn't say anything about what they would offer, if it would happen, only what I have stated.
Personally I think he would be a good get to help out Cripps, guess we will see.

Go Baggers

Late pick for Ellis-Yolmen would work for me - maybe the Doggie's third rounder. Or make it our third rounder and get them to throw in Lyons as well.

If you believe the other rumour that was thrown up a week ago, we are also interested in Grigg from the Crows... CEY + Grigg for a 3rd Rounder?

Riewoldt I'd take if only to see the response from the Richmond faithful. Would be absolutely glorious.

CEY could be a similar story to Kerridge last year. Solid young player kept out of the side and may flourish with greater senior opportunities. I'd certainly have a look at him, but the player I'd really like from Adelaide is Jarryd Lyons. Has been around for a few years now but had a real break-out season in 2016.

Comparing to Kerridge?
Let's hope the new boy can hit a target

I am usually driven by value.

Eg If we think Jack Riewoldt is worth pick 8 and the tigers are having a firesale and we can get him for pick 15, then I would jump at it.

However, in this case, it just doesn't make any 'strategic sense'.

I don't care if we could recruit Corey Enright as DFA, Matthew Boyd with pick 104 and Lance Franklin with pick 41 this year. All would be bargains, but just don't make sense for where we are at.

Except Franklin ... if Swans pay 80% of his salary.

Looking at the phantom draft and if there was a year for downgrading your first round pick, I reckon this is it.
