We're showing interest in Lang from the Cats Devon Smith will be medically checked knee issues are a concern Gibbs will stay unless offer from Crows will benefit us and still looking out for couple of more assistant coaches

Interesting about lang..didn't we want him last year?

Hope we can keep Gibbs but if he goes I'd be happy to try turn him into Stringer. Not his biggest fan because of attitude + does not always do the team-first thing BUT would back Bolton to get him back to his mindset where he's at his best and we're always buying at a very low price that makes it worth the risk.

End of 2015 I expect the Dogs would have said no to 2 top 10 picks.

Now I'd say it's realistic to get him for 1 pick around 10. Risk v reward

Let me make this point straight off - I don't care if we get Stringer or not. He would be a very good get for us but not at a huge trade or financial cost.
Having said that, I think it's $%#&*(@ amazing how people can keep attacking the young guy's character after he has endured a marriage breakdown and the loss of his children! How the ^%$# would all of you heroes go if you were faced with the same situation at the same age?
Absolutely marvelously of course - wouldn't miss a beat cos you are SOOOOO unbreakable!!!!!
If he were missing home or had a drug problem everyone would make excuses as to how he came to be there - done it hard as a kid, blah, blah.
No matter where he plays his footy next year, I hope he returns to his best.
The ones taking pot shots at Stringer clearly show that they have been through sfa in their lives.
Get off your high horse and give the young man a break

Sort of but not quite, as we still have to accept responsibility for our actions.
Stringer may well be having tough times on the home (or lack of home) front, but he can't take it out on coach and club.

There are plenty of good people around clubs these days that will help as much as possible at every call, but if you do 'choose' to turn against them, maybe your ego has got well ahead of you.

IF, he has done what is being suggested he has done, putting his whole club off-side, maybe he should take his issues somewhere for examination.

We asked for Lang after The Cats flatly rejected our queries on Cockatoo.
He didn't want to come though.

Lang is tidy, but doesn't exactly make for a premium get.
Silly decision by Lang, hopefully we can get him with a late pick or a player trade.

It would be quite difficult if a teammate hooked up with your ex wife as has been suggested. Sure he doesn't own her but you're not going to be happy with that teammate. It's a little raw.

Didn't the Dogs have a similar issue with Scott West years back?

Also Brian Lake was offside with his team. Didn't stop him from finding form when he went to the Hawks.

Perhaps but the puritan opinion can be tiresome. From a pure list management view proceed with caution.

Lang goes okay but nothing special. Would add a bit of pace at least.

Stringer himself came out and said it's not true about JJ and his ex.

Only two people know what really happened, Jake and his ex. All the speculation is very Woman's Day.

ODN I would think having some sort of metaphorical ownership is implied in a marriage contract. Otherwise what does marriage mean? Oh yeah I forgot 60%+ of marriages end in divorce these days , so it obviously doesnt mean much. What are we going to vote on again?

So Stringer's marriage breaks down due to him having multiple affairs and it's not his fault?

Cool.
The single dad rate is pretty high on football forums just by their cultural nature. That being said, we don't have the whole story.

If what you say is true, then he's only got himself to blame for a strained relationship, but he still deserves some sympathy if his emotional state is through the floor, because it would suggest there is an issue he is struggling with that precipitated into this pattern of behaviour.

The status quo says to endlessly dump on the cheater no matter the circumstances, and that's what plenty of people will do from afar. I think that while they absolutely need to be run through the coals, it's important to recognise when there is clear expression of guilt, remorse and general depression through the series of events.

If he brushed the whole thing off like a burden was lifted, then we'd be right to label him a genuine dickhead. That's clearly not the case, so he's just a flawed idiot like the rest of us, which says nothing of fault, nor absolves him of his actions (whatever they may be) in of itself.

They weren't married, and no, my husband doesn't own me.

Performance is as much about mental state as physical capability - once a person's non work life becomes a mess it is hard to get the same player back. The contra argument is that (sometimes) a change of work place can ameliorate past connections and associations and offer a clean sheet - or a base upon which to reset for an individual.

Either way it means Stringer's value is less than what it was because the risk with him not performing to previous best (or worse) - is high.

TBH not sure why we are interested . Getting sick and tired of us continually bringing in small framed players into our club . Will be hugely disappointed if we end up taking players such as Lang on top of Smedts last year and dont land a Kennedy type to add to a depleted inside presence .
