I have been informed by a little bird that a chief associate from TLA: The Global Sports Management & Marketing Agency, was seen having lunch with SOS at Ikon Park the other day.

TLA is Craig Kelly's mob, who I think acquired another agency last off-season.

Players of note that they manage (read: SOS might be interested in discussing): Francis, Tomlinson, Corr, Ben Brown, Sier, Brodie Smith, Byrne, Oliver, Rioli, McKenzie, Houston, Hannebery, McStay, Hartlett, Sinclair, Roughead, Daniher, Jones, Kreuzer, Lobbe, Wright, Wines, Kerr, Phil Davis, Lobb, McLarty, Mayes, Scully, Barrass, McLean, and Zach Merrett.

That narrows the field somewhat.

So could have been catching up about one of our 6 existing players that are already part of that stable. Not sure ANYTHING can be taken from that bluemour.

No need.

I logged in using a family members acct details. :p

2nd link def doesn't work.

OLLIE AT ALBERTON

DESPITE remaining non-committal on his future beyond this year Port Adelaide’s next captain is going nowhere.
Look for him to claim his first John Cahill Medal as Port’s best and fairest in 2018."

I think he is one of the best midfielders the doggies have - does teh grunt owrk and has really good disposal under pressure. I think they missed him when he was out injured ...

anyway he is the type of player I reckon would fit in to Carlton - blue collar type without a fancy pants price tag doggies will never let him go.

Somehow reminds me of Brown dog

I don't think Gibbs will be as big a loss as some are predicting. We have brought in Kennedy as a replacement and whilst he may not have the same level of finesse, he is certainly going to be more robust in the clinches than Gibbs ever was.

There will be natural improvement from last year, the players are one-year older, one-year fitter & one-year more physically developed, not saying this will result in extra wins but I'm quite certain there will not be any blowouts this season.

2019 and the switch will be flicked properly !!!

Gibbs was great no doubt, but I think he was forced to play too much of an inside game at the expense of his outside /running/finishing game where his finesse would have had the edge over his nominal replacement ie Kennedy.

But Like you I also think that kennedy has potentially a much better inside game. So if we compare Gibbs role in 2017 to this coming year, I think we have him covered. How many times has it been mentioned that Gibbs slammed the ball onto his boot and bombed it high and long- often to Levi, for Levi to sort out. I think this year, his replacement will have a much narrower brief.

He is there along with Cripps, to extract the ball to others in a better position. If these 2 play the whole season together, they will become a formidable team and with better understanding between them developing under match conditions, they will synergise .

The cripps/kennedy team also has flow on effects- particularly to Murphy, who like gibbs and also because of lack of depth and injuries, got sucked into playing more inside as well in 2017. Murph's best work is his creativity and finishing. He can stop on a dime, pivot and switch play when he has the space and freedom to do so, playing more inside, nullify s this part of his game which I think is elite. He is a good weighter of his kicks when at his creative best which could bode well for our forwards, to allow them to fall in to the hole.

Fisher will thrive under the better extraction regime and with his extra fitness this year, I see him becoming another creative mid for us. SPS , whilst able to find space anywhere, will be able to operate more on the outside, and we already know what pause, finesse and super disposal he has.

Which brings me to Dow, who will love being the breakaway mid for us, using his burst speed from stoppages reminiscent of CJ. Really looking forward to this kid blossoming in 2018 and giving us the hidden ingredient in our midfield .

Ed will find a place in there as a run with on the oppositions best mid, and also to help cripps and kennedy with his blocking and muscling out of the opposition.
