YUCK not that one.

Kreuzer at Essendon would make me sick!

Do you think we are being shrewd with salaries in order to go for a danger or Sloane and that's a sticking point for Kreuzer? If we do lose him it was be very frustrating as he wont be able to get compo if we sign someone else.

Not sure that Sloane is a free agent. If we get him to sign it will be via a trade, so if we lose Kruezer the compo sticks?

Big names like Sloane or Dangerfield aren't coming to Carlton until we start consistently showing that we are top 4 material. We keep waiting.

Not so sure TBH. Agree that Wood looks OK, but tend toward the view that Hammer was a ruck/fwd rather than the KPF we tried to make him into. Would have been much more than handy as a resting ruck.

I'm OK with MK learning the craft up forward as I see it as a vital part of any ruckman's game. He IS a No 1 Ruck though and pray that this is where we intend to play him.
I'd be happy if MK spent 2015 playing second fiddle to Warnock IF it was to ease Matty back into footy for 12 months and showcase Robbie for the final year of his contract.

I know what you're saying but consider that Warnock is out of contract at year's end. We are unlikley to get much for him if anything so I can't see the point in playing him unless we have no other options.

It seems obvious to me that Knockers plays out his contract in VFL and then ****s off. He may get some limited opportunities but surely we chuck MK in the ruck and leave him there. He can have spells up fwd with the man-child in Casboult offering reflief.

Wood next in line

We (and not referring to you Thy cause I know you agree with me on this) as a footy club, known for opening the cheque book out in the past and signing big name players, should realize those days are long gone.

Its not like we can sign the likes of Dangerfield, Kirk (sorry Jez) Cameron and Chad Wingard in the space of one or two free agency/trading periods. It actually would be more crazy and nonsensical then a Kirk Cameron movie (and his awful social views)

The only certified blue-chip proven superstar Hawthorn added during their flag run was Shaun Burgoyne (Gunston was an just a prodigious, but unproven talent when he left the Crows)

Don't think Geelong added any significant star player either during their flag run, despite losing arguably the game's most naturally talented player of all time.

Lets follow Port's path of having faith in our recruiters, develop our own, and only sign a big name to fill a glaring need IE Paddy Ryder.

That Port model definitely seems the right path to sustained premiership success/top 4 contention

We are not pushing for the flag next year, so what's the rush with MK? Give him a year sharing the load and give Robbie an opportunity. He can actually play the game when he applies himself.

We've said it about others in the past. If they aren't happy, it's best they leave eg: Laidler. I really like Kruezer, but the same thinking should apply also.

Unfortunately, I do expect us to finish in the bottom 6 this year and if he did leave, one would expect it would net us another very early pick.

Having 2 picks in the top ten with the way we now seem to be approaching the draft and trade period could get us 4 up and coming players and 2 late first round draft picks. In a sense that is, 1 player who we all love (out) and 6 very promising players in.

Kruezer has plenty to offer the team and he is well loved, but losing him could be very short term loss for a very, very long term gain.

Then why not have him come back through the VFL until he's ready to play 75% ruck / 25% forward, even if it means playing him there for half a season? How do we expect to improve as a team when you jeopardize the entire forward line just to nurse a player back?

We've all seen Kruez play forward; he is not a forward.

Wow. Do you really believe that MK is that much of a liability up forward? He's better than Warnock up there and at least as good as Wood.

As a ruck, MK plays a very, very physical game. Let's give him the best preparation to fulfil his capabilities and not throw him to the wolves just because...

They added one, Brad Otten & he was one of the most important cogs in their premiership success. No surprise they haven't been able to replace him since he called it quits.

You won't get any argument from me that he's a better forward than Warnock and probably Wood but really, it's the lesser of 3 evils.

Right now, the most obvious lineup, in my mind at least, involves Casboult as a FF and Kruez as a ruck. I have 0 faith in Warnock but at least Wood is a decent backup ruckman.

I'm prepared for the flack to come my way on this but I'll be straight up; if Kruez cannot ruck more than 75% of a game then he's baggage to this team.

Just found out Richard Douglas is out of contract at the end of 2015, now assuming that the Crows re-sign Danger and Sloane (big If) then Douglas may possibly be squeezed out due to SC reasons or wants a bigger pay day elsewhere.

Think he would certainly add some class and grunt to our midfield, that seems to be at the start of a regeneration cycle.

Douglas is a quality player, probably a bit forgotten due to his more high profile teammates, but I think we should have a big crack at him.

They tried to top up with McIntosh and failed there. Doesnt always work I suppose is the moral.

Completely new forward/ruck division this year - Rhys Stanley, Mitch Clark, Paddy Lucey and Tom Read.

(I still think we should enquire about nathan vardy on the cheap. Carlton fan as a kid.)
