I have never disliked anyone that has played for the Navy Blue, but today Henderson has become my first. Hope he goes to Geelong and he gets outed for being the soft player he is.

Davis, #14 Corr, #6 Marchbank are all/will be good key defenders with McCarthy also able to go back.

Forward line though: Patton, Cameron, McCarthy, Stewart, Tomlinson..........Pretty sure they don't need Henderson
At least 3 of those players could demand a lot of coin and be the focal KPP in almost any other team, there's no way they all stay at GWS... right?
Hendo and a draft pick for Patton? ;)

I think it would be a straight swap. Even though it could be argued that Patton is worth more on current standing, he is also an injury risk. His injury status is just as risky as Hendo's lack of mental fortitude to play through injuries and get the best out of himself when things aren't going his way. I would have though $500,000 a year would be enough to at least try and get the best out of yourself.

Id be more happy with Treleor going into the PSD and grabbing him with our Pick 1, and getting Carlise for the pick we get for Hendo.

A) What difference does that make?

B) Why would we destroy relationships with GWS who will be offloading plenty of talent over the next few years, when we could screw Essendon over instead?

Our whole side needs consistency. A forward pocket in a terrible forward line is not a place to do that.

He's had a bad year, is one of our most talented. Give him time and reload....there's more pressing issues than trading away one of our best KIDS.

Aaron Hamill was the first player who really made me mad.

Henderson, Yarran and pick 1 to GWS for Treloar, Patton and Tomlinson.

Rebuild underway.

To utilise some recent learning, this evidence is a "Smoking Gun" type evidence to prove the "Henderson to Geelong is a done deal" hypothesis. This validates the idea that Henderson will depart, a necessary pre-condition.
Geelong's stated interest fills a hoop test. They must want Henderson for the deal to have been done.
If Henderson were to request a trade to Geelong this would validate a hoop test. He must want to go there for a deal to have been done.
Geelong having a pick in Carlton's preferred range is a straw in the wind. It supports the evidence, and is consistent with the idea, but does not prove it.
There are no Doubly Decisive pieces of evidence, which simultaneously prove the hypothesis and eliminate alternatives

how much to put you on retainer?

I like it except the pick 1 part.

Prefer:

Yarran to Tigers for #14
Hendo to Geelong for #10 (or substitute Hendo into the trade below)
10, 14 & 20 to GWS for Patton, Treloar and a 4th Rounder they won't use anyway
Bell for a mid to late 2nd rounder if he wants out.

Use #1 for Weitering, Carlisle in PSD

Rice & Jack as F/S using 3rd/4th if we can, the Bell 2nd if we must.

We pick up 3 quality young KPPs, add Jaksh and GSOS with Casboult and we are a lot closer to having a decent flag capable spine in say 3 years.
Treloar & Rice add a bit to the mid mix in the immediate, medium and long term

Can only imagine every other boards trade threads today.

"He's requested a trade so Carlton will have to give him for a 5th rounder!!!!"
Geelong board seemed surprisingly reasonable to me...can't expect them to be any more or less realistic than our own board...and it must be said our collective grasp on reality is tenuous at the best of times.

If's and but's my friend. There are no friendships in business.

You have your opinion I have mine.

It's not about friendship, it's good business.

As much as they're opponents on the field, the off field relationship is a very different dynamic. Look at Essendon - nobody gives them anything when it comes to trading cause they're pricks to deal with. Screwing over GWS by taking Treloar for nothing will burn a really important bridge - and Treloar just isn't a valuable enough commodity to make it worthwhile.

If we were to trade for Patton, then grab Cameron in the PSD - different story. That's our forward line sorted.

In the business world, if you go screwing over your trading partners, customers or wholesalers, you only make things worse for yourself for a little bit of short term gain.
