Well I'll ask the question. If the deal isn't right for Hendo is it possible, with the new coach, to welcome him back to the club.

Are the bridges still burning ???

He has been travelling with a few of our boys in the off season.

Suspect he's well and truly burnt that bridge.

He's in Queenstown with Tuohy, Dick, Sheahan and Doc I think.
Edit: and Armfield.

Make sense with Bolton a teacher and the amount of learning the playing group has to do.
Actually Mars gave up hope thinking that we could make it to the granny....I told them it was a lost cause, but they refused to listen.

If true that's interesting.

The point is we still have in our grasp a quality KPP - maybe not AA but very capable if fit and motivated.

We've had a clean sweep basically of the coaching panel - I guess Barker is still there - but if we can only get a 2nd round pick for a Henderson then does Bolton and Henderson look at re-building the relationship, even if only for 12 months ?? I assume it would need buy-in from the leadership group but hate to just give him away.

Hendo isnt staying. The AFL isnt giving us any compo picks. This isnt a rumour, this is just fact.

Geelong arent going to give us their "best offer" straight up, hence why it is a negotiation. They low balled is if they said 2nd rounder + Walker for Hendo. Itll need to involve their pick 9 whether that be a direct swap or an upgrade of our pick 20.

Just waiting for MK to re-sign and for the 'was never leaving' 'Catom was always the only club for me' comments. Then this Compo babble will be a thing or the past.

Hopefully it happens soon.

Don't you hate it when you all book tickets mid year...
And it costs twice as much to cancel as it does to actually go....

I was in Sri Lanka last year, and there was an Australian 'couple' staying at the same hotel.
She'd ended it, and was moving to Canada. He wasn't going to waste a free trip (she'd paid in advance). So awkward.

Hendo needs to attract more suitors to force the cats hand. Richmond, GWS, Freo, Bris and you could argue Hawthorn are all in the market for a CHB.

The swingman aspect would also appeal to Freo as well as the Hawks.

Think of Hendo as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin........Sos needs to find Price Ali......

Not sure where the genie comes into it......

How I feel some weeks with a reserved seat next to Milkcrate.

Would get more awkward if you met someone nice at the bar and took her back to "your" room but encountered the soon to be ex. Would your new friend accept - " sorry I thought she had moved to Canada".

I would rather trade Hendo to GWS for their 2nd round than give him up to Geelong for peanuts.

SOS left GWS with a tone of talent..

Yep very smart move re GWS, there're oozing with talent in all shapes and sizes , an embaressment of real talent in both expansion teams that's why traditional club are struggling .
Hopefully SOS will be held highly accountable and do due diligence going forward. All eyes will be on the deals he can conjure.
Ciao

Might be one way to rekindle the old romance.

Using the AFL's draft value index, which I think is excessively weighted towards the top 5, 9 & 27 for Hendo & 19 would effectively value Hendo at pick 13.

That's a reasonable valuation using that system, but I feel as though it would cost us a third pick before the range in which we're likely to be matching a bid for Rice, so our value of 19 should be much higher, especially when it could net us a player like James Stewart from GWS.

Would rather trade directly for pick 13 than give up pick 19.

They don't have 13
