Weekend Wrap and "Liked, Learned, Hated" right here -- How did tipping go?
White has a contract for the next 12 months. If Mr. Plow comes along as we expect him to and forms a fantastic partnership with Weitering, then I can see White being one of those guys traded or delisted next year. Same for Armfield really... I expect to see news of his getting a new 12 month contract early next week.Yes, probably.
Fields, and White, are now redundant with the arrival of Plow-Diddy.
I know nothing about Gowers, so I won't comment.
he did punch out that essendon flog.Has Yarran ever played well on the big stage anyway?
What you did there. I see it.Am I the only one not falling for this messiah image EP seems to have around here?

Clearly list management was a huge issue pre SOS. How much was Kreuz on again? We are effectively making room in our cap to target a ready made player when we're ready in a couple of years. SOS pretty much confirmed that in an interview.Clearly paid on potential and not consistent output.
Exactly! As a club we need to be thinking long term, not just about the here and now! Picks 1, 8, 11, 19 and SOSOS with Kerridge, Plowman, Sumner, Phillips and Lamb is an eye to the future. We need to be looking at where this team is in 3 and 5 years time. Add Tomlinson, plus more high quality kids in the next year or two. This rebuild is well on its way!We lost 4 contracted players, all of whom should have been best 22 but only 1 of whom played like it.
We brought in 5 players, 4 of whom have missed games through injury. I'm confident Plowman, Kerridge and probably Sumner are quality at AFL level.
Sounds like GC enquired about Everitt, rather than us trying to push him out.
GWS played hardball on Tomlinson because he (like McCarthy) has two years remaining on his contract. They'll keep both til they know they can cover the loss.
Lamb and Sumner will fight for one spot, competition should improve output.
GWS took Simpson over Phillips because Phillips wanted out, and they need experienced depth. They had Mumford and kids, and struggled when Mummy went down. Phillips will have time with us to earn his place.
By all accounts, Richmond were never giving up 12. We hoped, we played the game, and walked away with 19. Considering the talk at the start of trade week was that we should accept 31 - we've done the right thing. Could it have been better? Maybe. But it was the right move given the circumstances.
Richmond can laugh at us, but they spent two weeks haggling over Yarran, while every other team in the mix for finals was working to improve their lists. They grabbed a midfielder in Townsend who might be serviceable, and Yarran who will be handy if he switches on. That's not a big improvement for a side that has lost in week one of finals 3 years running. Hawthorn, Freo, WC, Geelong, Sydney, Adelaide, GWS, Collingwood, NM, PA, WB all good chances to finish ahead of Richmond next year. Could also see a surge from Brisbane and GC which may trouble them.
We'll be bottom 3 again, will load up on a few more kids next year and hopefully bring in Tomlinson. We're rebuilding, and we've brought in a heap of young talent in year one that will lay the foundation for the next few seasons.
It was seriously so good seeing that bald clown sat on his arse after biting off way more than he could chew (and then having a huge sook after getting owned).he did punch out that essendon flog.
Oh well....should've publicly requested a trade and nominated us.

Be happy... I'm ****ing ecstatic... apart from being a bit down on losing out on Tomlinson, I am completely wrapped with the way that the trade week went.Blues will be disappointed with today but happy with the period overall. Going into the day, they were hoping to convert pick 8 to pick 6, get better than 19 for Yarran, snare Tomlinson and see a decent player such as Aish remain stranded for the purposes of the PSD. None of those eventuated. Perhaps GWS were never going to trade Tomlinson. He wanted to come to Carlton but it doesnt always come off. And sure, 6 would probably have delivered a KPF but it would have meant another significant sacrifice to get it. We had no control over the Aish thing and as for Yarran - maybe we coul have waited till 1.59pm - we will never know. SOS and Macca hung really tough but all supporters should be assured of one thing - telling the Tigers to get stuffed and keeping him would have been a very very bad idea - this is a guy with serious issues. And lets not forget, we converted 20 and 21 into 11, and many fans would have been prepared to see 20 go with Yarran to get 12 and a later pick. Well, we ended up with 11 and 19! We got 8 for Henderson - everyone would have taken that at the start of trade week; Effectively 11 for Bell plus 20 (we'd not have used 41 other than for SOSOS points); 19 for Yarran (unders, but only just and he's Trouble); and 5 players for Menzel - a talented player with a poor workrate who was out of contract in 12 months and gone gone goneski). All those players in are young and talented and we get to add 4 more top 20 players in a month plus Jack Silvagni who is still growing and still improving. Be happy gang

we are going for a 40/4 split I think... no more nominated rookies unless we have injury problems.I would expect Warnock to be delisted with Army a chance of a rookie spot if we wanna keep the same 36/6 split

hahaha you're funny!
he is only .5 off then!!!!! hate to see what a c would have elicited from you
he kind of has a point, we did an amazing job though!!!! b+ is a great score, you have to remember as well, SOS knows those 4 kids from GWS very well, now if i was a betting man, i'd say he wouldn't draft kids twice that were duds
great period for us ,
Can't deny him that.he did punch out that essendon flog.
Closest to specifics I've heard is that he enjoys some leisure time at the Pascoe Vale RSL.
Likes the old ladies eh?
I haven't heard for sure (not willing to bet my reputation on it) but my little birds are telling me Yarran is going (major off-field issues). The talk everywhere is Richmond but murmurs are coming through is he may want to go home to WA (again, don't take my word for it, new source, still unreliable).
Club not happy with Yarran off field
Plowman is done deal..... Yarran to Tigers almost certain but off field he's not doing us any favours.
I take comfort in the fact that AFL clubs are all highly professional units so there is every chance the Tigers already know about Yarran's issues and are responsible / humane enough not to use them as chips on the trade table.
EDIT: also, I'm pretty sure that the Tigers' brains trust isn't scrolling through BF for trade strategies.

From what I have heard, getting rid of Yarran will be a blessing in disguise for Carlton. He has some demons (not related to his father) that might explain his erratic on-field performance (and apparently erratic behavior off-field).
