White is toughness, something we lack, he may be needed to help keep these kids heads up and hopefully these kids create a bond where they are there for each other and don't let themselves be pushed around.

reckon Plowman might make things tough for him

Our back line is looking set. Midfield getting there. Next season we really need to throw the kitchen sink at a KPF to build around (unless there is an out and out gun in the draft).

Excited for the future but boy it's going to a bumpy ride for the next few years.

Tom Lynch from GC is out of contract next year.
Start planning now SOS, before the Pies get in his ear. If they haven't already.

Who's ever asked to be treated as a Messiah? Every once in a while I post what I know to be true and people can trust it, ignore it, disagree with it. I've never held my posts out to be gospel, and I don't post regularly because - well, did y'all read the Yarran thread on the draft and trading board? Cripes. Happy to piss off and never post again Thy

I think it may have been some twisted attempt at humour EP

Don't piss off EP we enjoy your input.

I used to sit in the Jeatley Stand and remember going up to Eric and getting his autograph, loved him :$

Exactly! As a club we need to be thinking long term, not just about the here and now! Picks 1, 8, 11, 19 and SOSOS with Kerridge, Plowman, Sumner, Phillips and Lamb is an eye to the future.
Okay so how did SOS the Boss fare overall - will we get an A, B or C rating for how we traded?

How do we feel about the Menz trade? It's great we got Kerridge and 28 and used it with next years first rounder from Geelong to get pick 8 and the GWS boys - but we could've also achieved that with pick 21 instead of 28. Obviously keeping 21 and using it with 20 got us pick 11.

So it comes down who we can get at 11 and how well Kerridge goes as to value of trading Menz out.

Quite a few posters bringing up Yarran's off field issues. Any idea what they are or is it best to be kept private? Another poster suggested they were quite substantial and was not willing to divulge any information until a trade was done.

Isn't this the rumour thread?
What's the rumour?

Is he just off the rails and upset in general?

Getting rid of a player who has not improved one iota since he arrived at the club whilst picking & choosing when he wants to turn it on is the real value in trading him.

Poor attitudes infect others at the club and the three sooks we just flung will not be missed whatsoever.

If you can't get excited about the trades we have done and can see a real path to the future, then go follow Ninthmond !!

I'll take that as an A+ Sheik. :D

Well said...
could be Bolton's influence there.
We only want players that are moving forward and developing

i reckon he might lock the players in a cold musty room and ask: are you comfortable being uncomfortable.

if they say yes... they are in.

Well in reality we actually did very well 4 picks in the top 20 getting rid of the snake, and lazy duds who never wanted to play for the jumper in my book is AA+. Don't get rid of the coach get rid of the players Bolton will be happier working with a list full of kids who are hungry.

1. Meh, I couldn't care less how some so called "experts" rate our trading. As long as we are happy as a club and by the sounds of it we are!
2. I feel great about the Menzel trade!! We got rid of a guy who this year could not be bothered to give a stuff to the point that we dropped him to the 2s. I have never really been that impressed with Menzel. He doesn't seem to have the same drive as his brother. This year when I thought of our kids, I would never think of Menzel. We have turned him into 5 players. At least three of those kids (Kerridge, Plowman, Sumner) I can see having as good a career as Menzel.

Overall I believe we need to be very happy with what we've accomplished.

A little bitter that we ultimately went the Sauce Jacobs route with Yarran but congrats to Richmond for sticking to their guns. Largely because he was contracted and it feels like they forced us into a trade.

Excited with that Bulldogs trade doing it Randy Orton style with the RKO outta nowhere.

On Menzel, it's been published before, but I believe that his issues came early on in his days at the Club. He involved himself with the wrong boys and it slowly got out of control there. I really believe he'll do well at Adelaide and that we'll rue it to a degree but if Plowman and another come on we'll be satisfied with the total outcome.

Yikes, shit, don't go EP. Thy was having a clever dig at another poster :)

Add the fact that he had lars surgery at 16yo as well.

What would the bookies be paying if a 200 game market was offered for Menzel to play that many??? I reckon at least 50-1 that he makes it and he had issues this season with his knee.

I ve read many times over the time he was at our Club, people hinting at Yazz's 'several off field issues'. We able to at least shed some light on these now that he's gone, or they that bad that they cant be brought into a public forum ?

What I've heard (note: this source isn't an A grade source, by the time he hears anything it's third or fourth hand information and you know how Chinese whispers works out) there's a reason why Richmond initially considered Harley Bennell easier to work with.... Let's leave it at that. Like Garlett I hope Yarran can turn it around for his sake.

Thing about Menzel is he was always a risk. Besides his brother's history, he himself had already had the LARS.

A risk we were obviously prepared to take given his talent. But when his application isn't up to scratch (allegedly)? Suddenly the risk wouldn't seem so worth it I guess.

Am I the only one not falling for this messiah image EP seems to have around here?

buck buck buck

A bit rough, Thy. He never asked for it. It was given to him by the people.

Closest to specifics I've heard is that he enjoys some leisure time at the Pascoe Vale TAB.

I'll confirm this. Know a barkeep there
