Having such a talented player sacked mid contract with no real explanation is difficult for supporters to cop.
It's not the club's place to reveal anything personal about any player. We don't need the details; it's none of our business. All we can do is wish him well.

Shame
Had so much potential
Hopefully he sorts himself out
Dont think he plays AFL again though
What a waste of a career
Yeah ... some very talented dudes just can't cope with the discipline of AFL and drop out.

I feel for them say after 20 years plus when they reflect back on what a fantastic opportunity they had ... and rejected it.
It is something they have to live with ... had it all and threw it away. Tough to deal with...

Aints fans going blue in the face trying to convince whoever can be bothered engaging with them, that Jack and all the ither B graders they lured across on ridiculous and unwarranted contracts didn’t come to them ‘for the cash’, but because ‘they believe in the project’
Riiiiiiiiight 🙄

What ‘project’

I believe in the last chance draw of Lyon and Blues legend SOS, and this is what this is. Theyve been patient with mediocrity and are loading up inside this rules.

It all works if TDK really steps up consistently in the middle. That's what they paid for. The media pressure on him next year will be immense.

What’s barren and full of cobwebs?

The Aints trophey cabinets! Likely to remain that way for sometime, particularly due to their current list management strategy. 😊👍

Jack thought he had a very discriminating taste as to what constitutes a shit club - however apparently he does not. 🤣
It actually adds to the hilarity of Jack Silvagni’s St Kilda move.

If someone does a shit in the swimming pool, it doesn't matter how "resilient" the other swimmers are, their experience will be effected by the shit.

I would dearly love EH to be right to go.

But I think there is zero chance that CFC publicly and privately have asked him to find another home because he has anxiety and drinks too much when he's by himself, as the Peter Ryan article suggested. There is clearly a lot more to it than that.

You talk about good culture? What good culture is NOT is being so unprofessional and amateur in you life that the club is asking you to leave, and god knows the bar for that is pretty damnhigh. I trust the new regime, who have all the info (unlike us flogs), to make that judgement call.

I have a lot of empathy for people who are struggling with mental health and addiction issues. And if Walshy can fix him, I'm here for it because I'd love a fit and well Elijah tearing down the forward flank. But I have no problem with the Club drawing a line given the number of chances he's had, and I hope he gets proper support outside of the club.
If you do not have the mental fortitude where someone like this effects your performance then the problem is not them it's you.

It's one player. If it was the club supporting this then that is a different story.

If any player thinks that Elijah Hollands and his behavior effects their behavior or performance then 100% that player lacks mental fortitude for AFL football or any level of football.

Imagine going into a grand final and one player on the list does what ever Elijah has done and some go to water and we lose because of this. That's weak.

I am sorry but I am sick of hearing about mentally weak players who lack resilience and can't perform because of pretty mundane external factors. This is why the draft age needs to be lifted.

I am happy to see him go, but I don't want the excuses from the others. It wreaks of "bigger than the club" mentality.

What I want to know, is what he has done, whatever that is, has that been accepted at clubs who have been more successful than us?

The Elijah scenario is a head scratcher.

He’s obviously done something bad enough for the club to, apparently want to pay him out and move him on.

Yet, the club are allowing him to hang out, socialise and train with the boys.
What's difficult about it? He has problems with using substances that cause him to miss extended periods of the season either through being banned or not mentally/physically well enough to play.

Carlton of all clubs understands that every single list spot is an opportunity we can't let slip.

No shit..

Why are the club allowing him to train with the boys. If he’s such a bad influence that they want to delist and pay him out.

Another club will pick up Hollands 100%. And they will get a bargain.

Bit like Stocker. Why would any club trade for him when they know we are going to delist him in a couple of weeks time.
As he’s still contracted to us for one more year we need to break the contract costing us money. Nobody wanted to take on the contract in a weak pick return. I’m not sure how the contract situation works if he gets picked up as a DFA when technically he won’t be.

Last season, almost half our list was taken up by a motley collection of below league average small forwards, at least three of whom we pulled in from the VFL either a week before, or during, the season.

Can hardly make the case that list spots are at a premium. There's something truly bizarre about the way we are managing Hollands.

He's schroedinger's footballer right now which is very very strange
