My post was in reference to hellfire calling black flag a flog for stating we can win man vs man.

the over confidence from both sets of supporters in this thread is ridiculous.
im quietly confident if we perform well we will win - but that said i'm not necessarily confident we will perform well.. anything can happen.
If you treat the Polls Board as an extension of Bay 13, and then deny it, you're a flog.My post was in reference to hellfire calling black flag a flog for stating we can win man vs man.
You dont have to worry about who to play on Yarran. He's shit, we should have taken Rich![]()
Good post, I have always said Carlton getting rid of Fev was a good thing as it makes them less predictable. In saying that I think our defence is very underated, they know how to cover each other and shut the forwards down. The game will be won in the midfield, Carlton have some real stars but we are alot closer now with the improvment of some kids ie: Beams, Sidebottom and Wellingham. Throw in our midfield rotations like Dids, Leon, Swan, Pendles, Ball ect and all of a sudden we look damn impressive.... and Carlton has beaten Collingwood in 3 of the last 4.
Yes, Fev did make a difference in 2 of those games, but if you look at the title of this thread i think the point is that the Blues have a new look, multi-dimensional forward line that appears dangerous, effectively replacing Fev (for what it's worth, i'll take a multi-dimensional forward line any day over a forward line with one exceptional forward, it's much harder for the opposition to counter).
As for a team being decimated with injury, sure that's a factor but are you going to hang your hat on that as the sole reason why Carlton won that game, it was a very convincing victory? Being gracious in defeat is often viewed as a positive.
As for this coming game the Pies are in better form than the Cats. Your running has been impressive this year, the Pies are a tough, hard outfit, who apply great pressure on the opposition.
The Pies should go in as favourites, the question for the teams are:
- Can the Pies stop the Blues midfield and the small forwards who have done well the last two weeks?
- Can the Blues stop the Pies continuous pressure and run out of the backline and a strong running midfield?

Will be a cracking game and should let us know where both teams are really at by the end.
Collingwood play their best - they win, easily.
Carlton play their best - they have a reasonable chance if winning - provided collingwood is not 'on'.
Cant remember the last time both sides played at their best against each other, and it more than likely wont happen Sunday.
The multi-quote option is great. That's why it's there.Muuullttiiii-quoooootttteee!!!!
I agree.Collingwood play their best - they win.
I disagree. I think Carlton could play their best, or close to it, and still lose if Collingwood plays well too. For Carlton to win, Collingwood will have to play poorly.Carlton play their best - they win.
Well I can't remember the last time that both teams were in good form prior to playing each other. They are this time though, so therefore it's possible that both teams play well, and if that happens, then Collingwood will win.Cant remember the last time both sides played at their best against each other, and it more than likely wont happen Sunday.

But I must say, I haven't been more confident of beating an in-form side like Carlton this week since some 02-03 games.three small quick forwards are good and all, but you do realise the collingwood backline holds some of the games best readers of the play. Between Reid, Maxy, Heater and Harry, bombing the ball in is only going to lead to it flying back over your head.
Carlton's lack of talls up forwards is going to be its major downfall here. You cant do what you did against the cats with us. Our backlines ability to peel off and mark deep is at the very pointy end of the league.
Not that i'm saying your fwd's are crap or anything to that regard. I just find it ironic that some fans i have spoken to keep saying 1 on 1 your forwards would beat their opponents, So not true, teams avoid playing pies players 1 on 1 because we are so good at zoning off, yea we get caught out at times but most of the time we will win the contest.
Oh and however dangerous your young trio is at our end we have the best, simple fact, inconsistent as they are, they only need a matter of minutes to light up and it on again. Mind you they usually dont light up often but against your mob i think someone will, i mean between the 4 or 5 of them im sure someone will pull their finger out.

So they had 3 small fwds that kicked 7 goals between them and it's like the second coming of jesus?
Didak, Leon, Medhurst and Dick having been doing this for ages and I'm not dropping my pants and having a tug about it.
Bunch of front running, down hill skiing squibs, the lot of them.
