I worked in a winery and the winemakers preferred beer was Coopers so we thought it was a bit fancy. I agree with earlier posts though about the asashi and there was a particular Thai beer that was very good but the name escapes me. Belgian beer too was something to appreciate when you had it.

Might be wrong (memory is a bit hazy) but I think this beer was considered a piece of genius marketing. I think it came out in the early 90s when you couldn’t ask the Barman for a light beer without copping a lot of shit from everyone so they changed the name to Blue and people didn’t feel as bad asking for one of those and sales went through the roof
