It's a coming!

The sequel to the incredibly addicting loot co-op game Borderlands is set to be fully revealed at Gamescom and via Game Informer.

Hopefully we get a better ending to the game. Borderlands ending was almost enough to completely ruin everything before it.

Guess what, guys? There's going to be a second Borderlands game.

2K officially announced today that the sequel to Gearbox's breakout action role-playing shooter is very much in development, and will be headed to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in fiscal 2012 (translation: sometime after April next year).

In addition to the basic announcement, Game Informer revealed Borderlands 2 as its September cover exclusive, dropping a few details on what we can expect from the sequel.
"Don’t expect just a couple bazillion more guns this time around. Gearbox is introducing new and more diverse environments, smarter and more powerful enemies, and an improved mission system capable of delivering a better story."

Agreed, hilariously bad story but still an incredibly addictive game.

TBH you didn't really realise the story was so epically bad until you finished, by which time you'd already had a swag of entertainment.

Not sure if that makes it forgivable haha, but yeah still played the shit out of the first and will buy the 2nd

Enjoyed playing co-op with it.

I liked it offline and then I went to play online and somehow ended up in a high level party. I ran to catch up to them and there was about 100 weapons worth about 999999999 bucks sitting on the ground. I kinda thought if I can pick up one of them and sell it makes it all too easy...so I just stayed offline. Haven't touched it for a few months now though.

Would like to see what the second one is like. Bloody awesome game but alot of improvements could be made

Awful, The first one had no story..
It's gonna be a flop.

Who the hell gives a rats ass about story in a game like this?

This is about co op and loot. Nothing more and nothing less.

Played through this with a buddy recently on PC after having the 360 version and getting bored of it playing single player. Love the graphics, the distopian game world and the loot whoring. Really looking forward to the sequel.

I can understand how this game isn't for everybody, but saying it's awful because it has no story is silly.

borderlands was good but they really need to improve navigation imo.

not sure if it happened to others but i got so frustrated not knowing exactly where to go after completing a handful of missions to get the xp/cash but like others have said it's addictive with all the sweet loot and weapon types and playing online was cool though quite lagged.

not sure if i'll get this one but i'd be lying if i said it wasn't on my radar.

I had no problem with that, However

Really bad storyline to an almost "your finding treasure" is explained at the start, and from there nothing engages you

I had a problem with

-Guns, promised 300,000. Gave me about 3 different skins for each gun and just more numbers
-Game was a Grind, Purely for grinding
-For 20% of the game the ONLY thing you do is kill skags, It's ****ing boring killing the same thing, only to run into a higher level one.

After 20 minutes i realise it's just diablo 2 with guns and cell shading, It had potential however, i really liked the look, im actually a fan of that sort of market they were aiming for, They however just got lazy, i feel spending another 2 months on story telling and a few more damn guns and i would have liked it

Must say, Co-Op was fun, especuially rolling the jeep when team-mates were in it and blowing it up, or driving off a cliff and jumping out at the last second

Didn't really have any issues with navigation or co-op lag myself

Yeah we are about as far away from each other as you can get in Aus and co-op games played well.

Some details from GI.

Source: http://gamingeverything.com/?p=7216
- Co-op will probably be 4 players
- Vehicles will have variety
- One vehicle: Bandit Technical
- One vehicle will have four seats
- Eridium – enhance weapons
- Eridium is a form of currency
- Salvador: Gunzerker, can dual-wield with any weapon
- Vault Hunters from the first game will be NPCs
- Bandits can access their own type of weaponry
- Unique styling, color, personality for each manufacturer
- Custom decals/enhancements for weapons
- More responsive enemies, more varied, better AI, improvement so that they interact with each other better
- NPCs will also be improved, will move around more
- Interacting dialogue for players
- Skill tree will be similar to the first game (3 branch system)
- Claptrap seems to be returning
- Apparently there won’t be any old weapons
- Story missions won’t be static
- Some pickups will provide temporary buffs

Missed the boat in the first one, might have to look at it early this time round for the co-op.
Still would be worth picking up the GOTY version.

Still holds up as a Single Player game imo simply due to the insane addictiveness of the loot.

I did play a little of the first, not a lot of people around and it felt like the game that would play better in co-op.

to clear up my problem with the navigation...
i stopped playing for about 4-5 months after putting in maybe 12+ hours into the game (mw2 among other games stopped me) and when i got back and tried to rush through the campaign with all my logged up missions i just wanted to quick travel to places but it never gave you the exact location of where to go to cash in your beaten missions.
when i was playing at the start i did very little quick travelling and just followed the normal arrows on mini map but the quick travel is definitely something that needs to be improved imo

could possibly have been better coded on the 360? 2 players was fine but playing in a group of 4 got considerably jumpy.

Agreed with the 4 player being laggy as shit sometimes.

Playing this 4 player with Camo, HBK and Kingy was awesome. Definitely getting this day one again for some co op goodness.

Or there was a larger player base so more chance of a better connection? Only times I got laggy 4 player games was playing with yanks

i'm going to say better coded since ps3 outnumbers 360's in aust quite handily (from memory) which is really all we should care about in player base size...i guess it's possible more 360 players bought the game in aust than ps3 players but i doubt even if that happened it would've been by a significant number.
either way the people we were 4 player co-opping with was kerrby, king elvis, hbk and myself with the farthest away being in adelaide with the other 3 in melb....was jumpy as all **** and this was before i moved to the house with 3rd world net.
