Well I couldn't help myself and picked up this bad boy from JB.. just installed it so about to get crackin.

I've done a few missions, reminds me a lot of Fallout so far but more shooting and shit which will suit my style. Looks good thus far.

Anybody know what the Split Screen is like?

I will end up doing this research myself, probably tomorrow at work, but do you know how it works? Does it use the character I created for my single player game? Is it the full story, from the beginning? Some kind of mini game thing where you just accumulate XP?

Ok, i haven't played system link, but this is how the online multiplayer works...

The multiplayer is a drop in system. You can drop into anyones game at any stage, regardless of how much further advanced/behind they are than you. You can play as your single player character or as a new character. You play the game as normal, gain xp for every enemy you and your playing partners kill, you also both get any cash collected by any player.

The only thing you must divvy up is ammo and weapons that you find. If you have completed a mission and replay it in multiplayer with someone else, you won't get that xp again. If you melee your co-op partner you can start a PvP fight as well as a little added bonus, which earns you xp.

You can start/drop out at any time, it's really flexible

Now thats over the net, afaik split screen works the same. You launch it from the main menu and play as normal, and you keep everything you earn in terms of xp and guns

I am level 6 now. Loving the game so far, it is pretty addictive. Starts off fairly easy, then got involved in some pretty decent fights.. but the first boss I encountered was a wakeup call.

Then I got absolutely destroyed by
bonehead
so won't be facing him again in a hurry.

You've probably noticed mate, but when you go to select a quest to complete, it'll give you a suggested level that you should be at before attempting it. If it looks hard, level up a bit before trying it

Equus, easily a 4 out of 5. If you like Fallout 3 you'll be right into it

I shouldnt have bought the game off steam.. bloody game still has a day or so until it unlocks
Worse still...if you pre-loaded it you have to RE-download the full 7GB worth of data again!

Why so? whats the pt of preloading then?
Simply put they stuffed it up. 2K put a censored version on Steam for Aussie users.

Source: http://www.ausgamers.com/news/read/2804184
"We'd like to confirm that the Australian version of Borderlands is not censored in any way. This applies to all platforms and distribution methods, including Steam. Because of an internal mix-up an incorrect version of the game was available to preload on Steam for a brief period of time. This version has since been replaced. We're asking everybody who has downloaded the Australian version of Borderlands previously to delete the local content and re-download the game to ensure that they have the proper files.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."
Do you understand how STEAM works hutchie?
Read the news before you post...;)

Yeah do the side missions to rank up a bit before taking him on.

Easily 4 out of 5, just did the
mad max
section. Love it. :thumbsu:

Bought this game today, been playing for three hours.

I'm up to level 9.

Two things that made me lol were:

A sign that says "TROUBLE" with a backwards L and it's pointing to this cage thing. Then out pop up the Crazy Migit Axemen charging at you.

Then right next to it, it has a sign with "Fyrestone - Population: Pis Off".

Loving this game.

so tempted to pick this up. Couple of questions for those that have it.Have you finished it? How long is it and would you play it again? Do you need to play co-op to get the most out of it? Does it ever feel repetetive?

Haven't finished. Believe there are 3 main areas and i have only unlocked the second and have barely touched it. 20 hours in or so. If you do most of the optional quests i've heard 40-50 hours quoted.

Co-op is fun, but single player is still very addictive. I mean its the exact same game co-op, you're just doing it with a mate.

I guess it's repetitive, but in a good way. but its an RPG. Most are in some way. I'll play it again with a different character for sure

Yeah cool, and afterwards do you wanna go to the garage and do karate?

Sweet

Shit mate, one of us needs to buy the appropriate console one of these days
