One of the worst type's of human there is.

The ones with the old 'bouncer' hero mentality, yes.

The bad ones give the good ones a bad name.

This is more of a fair comment, you still have the ones who think every Firday & Saturday night is an opportunity to prove themself a warrior, but there are many who are good at their job, respectful & just looking to do their job without getting into trouble.

It's the kind of job that's always going to attract losers.

You're always going to get a larger ratio of ****heads > decent people in a profession like that.

Those sketchy, roided up ones that pop before work are not nice.

I remember the Crown ones destroying some dude over at Jeff's shed. Little kids watching this guy killed. Was a laugh

It's also very frustrating to receive fashion advice from some 33 y.o bald bikie with a goatie wearing pleated polyester slacks and square-toe windsor-smiths.

Have you tried wearing a $400 shirt and a sharp pair of R.M Williams boots? Glams will be swooned.:thumbsu:

Most of the bouncers I encounter are fine, usually have a laugh with them when I'm leaving too. Then you have the idiots who just like to act tough, I hate lining up for 45 minutes only to get rejected at the door because I'm apparently too drunk (even though I haven't had a sip of alcohol that night).

Bouncers are doing their job, if there's one thing i've learned as a patron is just walk away, if they say you can't go in or you have to leave, there's no point arguing, just go, they are never going to change their mind and they've probably been getting shit all night. No need to get into them, you're asking for trouble if do that.

Not true.

I was at a club/pub and my mates thought it would be a good idea to give me a shooter of gin instead of the vodka we have been downing previously (they now i have a huge aversion to the stuff) anyway, i down it not thinking twice what was in it. immediately, i know im in trouble as i taste the god awful stuff.

Bouncer is about 10 meter behind me, I turn around, and just blow chunks on the floor near the entrance to the toilet. Bouncer has to cross the dancefloor but does so immediately.

I managed to convince him it wasn't me who did it, that it was another guy who is now in the toilet (i have no idea if anyone else is in there let alone wearing the same colour shirt as me. Anyway 5 minutes of convincing him seemed to do the trick. Once I had him even 'thinking' it 'maybe' wasn't me I knew I had him.

No problems.

They know better.

One of my cousins is a bouncer at Crown. Told me last week him and four other bouncers had to chase this guy all the way through Crown, down King St, and ended up catching him at a strip joint he tried hiding out at (just ran in), pretty funny.

Why did they keep chasing him after he left?

Never had any troubles with bouncers. It seems that people who think all bouncers are ********s tend to be the people who are douchebags when drunk. Don't act like a ********, and bouncers will treat you OK.

That said, you'll get the occasional bouncer who really is a ********, like any profession, but they're not common. Most bouncers are just normal guys.

I've never really had a problem with bouncers just be polite, don't bullshit them and if you really have an issue with how a guard is operating then take his number and company and call them in the morning.

Bouncers are pretty tame these days, with all the CCTV and mobile phone cameras even the meatheads know that they can't do much unless someone takes a swing at them first.

In 7 years working in hospitality i've never seen someone get roughed up by a bouncer that didn't deserve it either because they were already violent with someone else or had done something that required swift removal from the venue.

Brother ended up in ICU last year, fractured skull and bleeding on the brain. Lucky to not have sustained a brain injury. Mystery as to where the CCTV footage was... probably because they took him around the side. Scum.

fwiw, he wasn't having a go at the bouncers or acting aggressively. Just looking after his gf who had had a few too many.

While that's a terrible situation, how can you know this?

Agreed, if this is the actual situation. Two incidents have turned me completely against bouncers:

1. On surfers paradise, went outside with a mate to have a smoke. We both had passouts (this was when you could go out the front to smoke and come back in whenever you like). Bouncer lets my mate in but stops me, and insists on me kissing a ring he was wearing to get back in (showing off to a mate I think). When I refused, he cocked his hand back to take a swing at me but was stopped by his mate. I hadn't even said one word to the guy, but nearly ended up with a black eye.

2. Bouncer down in Werribee in Melbourne, who punched my mate who was playing a gig at a pub completely unprovoked (incidentally the same mate I was at the GC with). He had been taking his drum kit out of the venue and went to go back in when the bouncer stopped him. When he tried to explain what was happening, the guy pretty much snapped and starting yelling, then bang. Complete psychopath.

Eye-witness accounts of what happened, including that of his gf who was held back as he was beaten up outside... My brother's not the type to get himself into fights- sober or drunk. The bouncers at this venue had a bit of a reputation with the police. Probably why they ended up paying for the ambulance etc...

See in cases like this I'd have no sense of outrage whatsoever if folk were aggrieved enough to go get some payback from this arseh*le. Same with that bouncer who murdered that bloke at Crown the other week...

Of course having said THAT I know that the truly bad eggs are in the minority and that most crowd controllers have a pretty rough job trying to keep drunks in line. I've never given bouncers grief myself, but I've copped some in the past so I know what the odd bad one can be like.

I find it hard to believe that this happened for nothing.
