Then they should announce it now. No delays.
If they are working (AFL) they probably will

But if these numbers are correct then its Band 1 , But if it was on the lower end like $700k x 5 that wouldnt get it under the AFL guidlines
Im thinking they would have restructured it to 4 years if that was the case.
4 x $800 = $3.2 = Band1

Wouldnt make sense to do $700k x 5

The sweet spot for this thread would be if its $725,000 x 5 = $3,625,000 and the Band 2 is awarded and Brad/Stkilda agreed if matched no trade
What would Crows do ? Match and Keep for $725kx5 ?

The latest whispers I have heard around is that it will fall just short of band 1 compo and will be a start of rnd 2 pick

Yes but we are well placed with the fact we came last and if we don't grab him north will if the price is as low as 650k that's what we ate currently paying him

I think your missing the fact Brad wants a big pay day he wanted 1 million last year

Forget what Adelaide what Brad wants more

So Adelaide would draft a bloke who they haven't given a contract offer, announced his intention to join another club, and then, knocks back their contract offer?
How do you see that working?

No other club is going to draft a player that has nominated a club. Five years is a long time to pay a disgruntled employee.

Well after all that - 266 pages of Grade A nonsense -(most of it from Marty to be fair), looks like it's been confirmed that Adelaide will in fact NOT receive Pick 2.

Looks like he's staying. /Close thread

"The AFL is expected to reject Adelaide’s wish for Pick 2 compensation for Brad Crouch.

Foxfooty.com.au understands Crouch’s average salary of $600,000 per season across four years with a trigger for a fifth is almost certain to see the Crows land a later selection from league HQ.

Though the AFL’s secret recipe for compensation remains as mysterious as it was before, previous deals of a similar figure have netted picks at the end of the first round or the start of the second round.

Adelaide has chased the prestigious selection for some time and for a while it appeared likely, with the midfielder asking for upwards of $700,000 per season.

But when the league hands down their compensation, the Crows will need to decide whether they should match the Saints’ offer and force a trade or begrudgingly except a lower pick.

When you factor in Joe Daniher compensation, Zach Williams’ compensation and the AFL’s concession to Gold Coast, pick 22 would be the end of first round selection and the start of round two would be pick 23.

Adelaide has three days to decide whether this compensation is proportionate to Crouch’s value as a player.

The club is yet to rule out becoming the second clubs in less than a week to match a bid for a restricted free agent."

I always thought it was highly unlikely for Adelaide to get pick 2 with all the stuff going on with north Melbourne

The effect it has on us is wildly overrated.

He might still leave though?

Adelaide will match, and St Kilda have said they're not trading (already tried to work something out but nothing doing)

99.9% chance he stays now, on 50K less than he was already apparently on, lol - the real hilarity in all this. Will get his long term contract though, so at least Crouch will be happy
