Sorry Jumbo. I call bullshit. The original magpies were even bigger dirtbags than the current wannabes. They were a bunch of front running band wagoners that make this current crop look amateurish in comparison. Don't let the passage of time dull your memory or soften the impact these refugees from the dark ages of the SANFL would like you to fondly remember them by..........Don't drop your standard!

And don't feel sorry for them. They would never return the favour!;)

Amen brother!

I was talking about the club not the supporters. That club died the day they entered the AFL. I admired the belief that the club had, the supporters were always dickheads. My original response was to a person saying that on the basis of a few pre season injuries, we should tank the year, my belief is that it doesn't matter if a few players get injured, our team should have the belief that we will win the flag.

I did write you see where you're at at say round 5 if our injury run continues, as looking at the current list it is growing weekly and we haven't had a ball bounced yet.

If we lose 3 or 4 out of the first 5 games and have an injury count to key players then it's time to decide how to handle the remainder of the year. Probably play a
Lot of youth and not be too concerned at the loses it will create as it will give you a better draft pick

Percentages say we will struggle if that occurs

I think this is incorrect. Sportsmed are currently expanding to include Jones & Partners onsite to be able to complete MRIs onsite and be a "one stop shop"

As I understand it, they currently only have X-Ray facilities.

My wife is a nurse there :)

Yeah I was at Stepney the other day for a Conference and was chatting to the Jones and Partners rep about it and definitely no MRI there yet, its on its way though. Lots of works going on there.

Brad Crouch is a machine. We have had to be patient, but that patience is now paying off with huge dividends. He has that burst of pace from the centre that we have been looking for coupled with strength. Strong explosive
mids are hard to come by. He is fully fit now, running the length and breath of the field last night. His disposal at times could be a bit better, but he often is letting it rip under enormous pressure or after running heaps to get the possession. Let us also not forget that he has not even played 100 games yet (currently on 74). Him remaining fit is a key to our prospects of further advancement this year. Has become one of our most important players. Down to just one on the bench last night the Crouch brothers played a huge part in us winning (particularly with Milera having an un-characteristically dirty night). Competitive beasts the pair of them. I am delighted to now be able to watch the Crouch brothers week in week out. We now have a very good balance and diversity in our midfield. It is far from one dimensional.

I always thought he was an accumulator with no hurt factor. He just hacked the ball forward at all costs end over end but it seems Godden has done some work with him to make him hold the ball for a few seconds more. He seems to be wheeling away from stoppages more than ever and actually getting some penetration on his kicks instead of just 10-20 metre dribbles.

If he could add some strong marking to his game he would be a complete player. I'd love to see him take a few Sloane like grabs up forward.

The only thing with his game at the moment is his disposal efficiency however he gets the ball and moves it forward and can kick it a decent distance.

Personally I consider him better than his brother (who seems to struggle to kick it 40 metres and his kick to handball ratio is lower than Brads).

Looking forward to seeing Brad to dominant for the rest of the season.

Great to see him thriving at last. I was one that had doubts he would ever string games together. If he can eliminate the odd clangers he'll be elite.
Frees against are clangers too. 5 Clangers..... 1 free against.

So 4 disposal errors from 43 posessions is very good.

Sloane had the same from 28 touches.

Yeah I think bias slips into evaluation of Brad. He’s quickly becoming a top 5 mid in the game.
Danger will spend more time going forward. Pendles will age.
Fyfe, J.Kelly, Martin and Cripps are the best for mine.
Coniglio, T.Kelly, Gaff, Neale and Treloar probably just ahead of Brad but he’s closing and if he can keep up Thursday next more consistently will fly past them.
Gone past Oliver, Omeara, Cunnington, Shiel, Merrett, Shuey, Yeo, Bontempelli, Wines, Parker

He looks like he has gained some real trust in his body these last couple of weeks, I'd attribute him just banging it onto the boot, to not having the confidence to burst from a stoppage. In 2017 even though he was fit he still seemed a bit flat footed, he hasn't looked this good since his debut year, reminding us all of why he was classed in the top 2 seventeen year olds in the country.
