Brad Crouch

Has the potential to be a top 5 mid in the company - was obvious from his debut seasons.

Does it look like he’s trimmed down a bit to anyone else?

Not as powerful and explosive - but actually injury free!

So we basically got Brouch and Brown for Davis?

Yes.

I don't like to compare Brad with Matt too much, but I do think its interesting that we only really saw the best of Matt after he had that 39 straight block of games in 2015/2016. That 2017 season he came out and his disposal looked so much cleaner, his decision making was light years ahead, and his comfort in the tightest of traffic was absolutely top shelf. Subsequently he was AA and broke the AFL single season disposal record that year.

To me Brad is still in the raw part of his progression, crazy good at racking up the disposals, but still making the 'run and gun' style decision's. And burning the disposal more then he should.

But if he can string that 40-odd straight games together, I shudder to think about what kind of impact he will have on games! Right now he's on 13!

With Matt it was his personal fitness level improvement that led to a lot of that spike in form moreso than matches played and I think it's much the same with Brad the fitter he gets the better he plays. It's bloody hard willing yourself to get to the next contest when you're lacking the miles in your legs and thus the aerobic capacity to do so.

I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.

Pick 10 and the compo pick we got for Davis (which was first round pick immediately after our 1st rounder the following year). We played off in the PF the following year so the pick was later on in the first round and pick 10 in the compromised draft was not a huge price to pay.

While Davis has gone on to become a very good player (as good as we had hoped he would), I think we have done pretty well out of this here.

Another "educated gamble" we took. We missed the finals that year but were confident we would get there the following year. GWS assumed that they would be getting two top 10 picks from the deal.

I haven't seen Brad wear a tag yet. I wonder when that test comes.
When it does, Sloane will go berserk!

Our best 22 come finals should include these names in the midfield rotations: Sloane, BC, MC, CEY, Milera, Greenwood, Gibbs and I'd also have Jones in the 22.

Rory Sloane revels in return of Crouch brothers’ influence as Crows turn season around
Nobody could be happier about the influence of the Crouch brothers than Rory Sloane.
Matt is as reliable as they come and, like Sloane, a Malcolm Blight medallist while Brad has finally managed to get his body right after spending all last year on the sidelines.

Both Crouch brothers look like they could challenge Sloane for All-Australian selection and the club’s best-and-fairest jacket, as Adelaide has turned a miserly 1-3 record at the start of the year into an 8-5 record after the mid-season bye.

Like all Crows fans, Sloane is thrilled to see the brothers finally getting to play their best football alongside one another.

Sloane’s older brother Dylan, who plays for Upwey Tecoma in Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges, will have to stick around for a while for the Sloanes to play alongside each other because he is already on the wrong side of 30.

“They are phenomenal footballers, those two,” Sloane told The Advertiser. “And I mean, how good is it to see two brothers play footy together?

“It’s what I’ve always wanted to do, just to play one game with my brother, but it probably won’t happen.

Matt and Brad Crouch lead the Crows in average disposals with 32 a game, followed by defender Rory Laird on 29 and Sloane on 25. In Sloane’s defence, he is the first one to be tagged by the opposition.

NTRabbit is still fairly adamant that both Crouch brothers are mediocre players, and not what our midfield needs.
I knew there was a reason I had him on ignore...

A Davis & Talia backline would have been juicy but at least we got a decent return for Davis, nailing both picks.

Always wondered what Brouch would have been like without the injury history, but at 25 I guess it's not implausible to suggest we haven't seen his ceiling yet.

Some really nice words from Brad on Phil Walsh especially...Really opens up on the team's love for Walshy.
