So we're already giving the stick to our incoming coach who is yet to coach a senior game? How about we canvas the possibilites should his successor-elect Mark Williams not work out either?

Longmire is his own man, he'll bring his own ideas and theories with him to the job.

Braddy hammy? How? Somehow i have the feeling it's really still his knee and it's not holding up too well.

He apparently did it during his fitness test last Thursday in a bid to play on Sunday.

Shit. I completely misread bateman's post in between pretending to do work.

I actually meant as an assistant coach.

I'm 100% behind Longmire. How about we give him a chance rather than assume he's just some sort of cheap Paul Roos clone.

It's one thing to give it to the current coach or complain about our style of play after a loss like the one we suffered on the weekend, but the negative attitude toward Longmire who, as you pointed out, hasn't even coached one senior game yet, is poor form imo.

Give the man a chance  We're fast becoming one of the most negative boards on Big Footy.

Where was I giving stick to anyone? It was an idea ... for discussion.

Sorry, I thought we could discuss ideas on Big Footy. I'll shut up and fck off then, yes?

I don't recall ever telling you to shut up or otherwise. You proposed an idea, and I gave my response on it. To me that would be classified as debate, but maybe I've been on the internet way too long. My response wasn't directed at you personally, and even after reading it again, I don't understand how you get to feel so antagonistic about my post.

I'm just getting sick of people already classifying Longmire as a Roos apologist. Was Roos a Rodney Eade clone when he took over the job midway through 2002? Longmire has his own ideas on AFL and coaching, and while a lot of it will be influenced by his apprenticeship under Roos, I believe he will have plenty ideas of his own.

All I am saying, is give Horse a chance!

I seem to remember Teddy kicking a couple of bags at FF in his first few praccy matches for us and then never getting another chance forward since.

I reckon he's worth a go forward, tall, athletic, reasonably qucik, and a good mark. Not so sure about his accuracy with set shots though.

I don't know why this hasn't been tried previously for a few matches just to see if would work.
While I'm one of a minority who wouldn't mind Teddy back in the team in defence, it definitely shouldn't be in attack. Teddy is a terrible forward, doesn't have the pace or physicality to match up against the top defenders of the opposition. His set shots are abysmal as well. Roos may bring him in as a decoy tall so that Goodes doesn't have to handle a double team. If this were the case, I would bring in Johnston in that role as I don't think he would do any worse than Ted, and it would be a good experience for the young kid.

Happy to be proven wrong but I can't recall ever seeing him play up front grimlock - has he ever been given an extended run there (i.e. more than a couple of quarters)?

After Hall 'retired' last year, Ted was thrust forward in the next game. Safe to say, he did not set the house on fire. I definitely remember the Essendon game and possibly the Kangaroos game before that he was played forward (I also recall LRT up forward for a bit in the Bombers game). The game after was against Carlton where he had that nasty injury, he was playing in defence then.

Also quite sure that he was drafted by Essendon as a forward.

Grim, i like "the horse" but i just have this worry that apart from Dew we have no one from the modern game. Hopefuly he will grap a couple of new assistants and freshen up the panel. It really is a jobs for the boys club.

Both are rubbish up forward. Leave LRT down back, very important to us in a normal situation but what with a tall Kangas lineup and we'll probably have to bring Teddy in to combat such a forward line and LRT becomes more important.

Bring Johnston or Currie in to play in the forward line.

Having said that, i can see Roosy deciding to go with Ted up forward anyway.

pretty sure he passed the fitness test on his knee, hammy was done in the final training session, Roos made a point of it when was asked by a journo

Johnston was BOG for the ressies on the weekend. Give him a run on the HFF, Goodes at CHF (let's face it, as much as we want him in the midfield, we need somebody who is big AND can take a grab at CHF), and Vespa at FF (assuming White is injured).

Sheedy is apparently very keen on getting Chocco to GWS brother Grime.

Et tu, Bungee.

So this is the evolutionary pinnacle of the development of communication in the technological age? A yellow, electronically generated thumb-up.

The great debaters, orators, wordsmiths and poets of history would be so proud. There was a lapse of about 8 hours there, feller, you had THAT long and that was the best you could come up with?

What is it you do in Belgium? Prime Minister? Poet Laureate? Head of education policy development?

You're proving a fearsome adversary. Is it just you, or is there a whole gang I should be concerned about?

I don't care if you and a million others find my opinions disagreeable; I'll argue my corner and at least have a crack at retaining some credibility ... you just carrying on sucking your thumb.

That's being driven by the panel on One Week At A Time, I haven't heard or seen it elsewhere. I'll be happy to be proven wrong.

Careful Mr PB, the bedsheet wearing book burners are amongst us.
Agent S120 was flamed recently for a lack of linen robes.:o

I'm still digging the Agent S120 moniker.

Apart from that, i don't get your post haha

Brussels time = Sydney time - 8 hours. QED I don't write in my sleep.

Not your fault if no-one told you the earth rotated (though surely you must have wondered why the World Cup was played at 4:30am) but regardless I did indeed agree with you MPB - absolutely, whole-heartedly, and with a big yellow electronically generated thumbs up

Here's another icon I like :p
