I just think it's a weird fallacy people have with rebounding defenders in this day and age. In the footy style at the moment where they're probably just as important as midfielders in generating forward thrusts one mistake that leads to a goal is blown out of proportion compared to 20 odd possessions of quality.
Good to see you posting again Jabso. :thumbsu:

Hey spartan-magpie, looks like the Maynartaur of 2016 is coming along nicely. (Have I got the spelling right?)

Big mistakes aside, I love having him in the side, love the way he stands up and does not go missing. Bruzzy's well past the point of being played just for experience and games; he's best 22 now. Interesting the calls on here to play him out of defence, to minimise the impact of his errors. Would we be cutting off our nose to spite our face?

Depends on his accuracy with that big left hoof Vicky - imagine 2 or 3 running 65 meter goals a game and the demoralising effect on the opposition - or - the opposition having to put another run with player on him.

Opposition won't be able to stop a beast though ;)

A far better version than marley Williams

Starting to become very damaging. Considering his age and inexperience it is really quite impressive. Has all the tools to become an extremely good player.

Long term he screams out "power" mid.

Keep in mind Dangerfield started out as HBF before the crows saw his midfield potential.

*Not saying he will get to Dangerfield level rather would be a power/brute mid like him and Martin.

I watched him closely yesterday.........very mature game by the boy........developing nicely.

I agree he should be played further up the ground.

Would be his tank that is slowly building mainly holding him back. Bucks has given him a few minutes late in games and next year we may see that time rise.

Remember 12 months ago when people were shit canning his kicking without taking in to account his age and inexperience.

Yeah. Good times....

The Maynartaur is coming along brilliantly.
His mistakes will educate him. His upside is huge. When he's finally played in his ideal position he will become a top 3 player at our club.

I love this kid. Without doubt my favorite player.

12 months ago? People were doing that two weeks ago after we lost to GWS lol

Love his kicking lately, also l see him as a mid long term

I dont think he'd make it as a mid.. potentially a fantastic half back flanker.. why do i say not as a mid? He telegraths the ball quite a bit.. once he makes up his mind of how he's gonna dispose of the pill he rarely changes it.. that's something he needs to work on at training.. Pendlebury is obviously the greatest exponent of that skill.. not easy to learn when it doesn't come naturally to ya.

His not making mistakes.. he doesn't have a fast twitch mindset.. the ability to make split second decisions where he has to change his mind.. that's the skill he lacks. But love him nonetheless.

Not every one going to Pendlebury like, if you are a good kick then more opportunities present. He has size and strength to play as a mid

I'm not saying to be Pendlebury standard.. he simply lacks the ability to change his mind when he needs to.. hence why he turns it over.

It would be interesting to look at his results in the draft combine.. that buzzer cognitive test wtf it is.. I'm guessing it would have been about average. Really a difficult skill to learn when it's innate. But if he can improve it with more short sharp exercises at training and lift his rating by 5-10% as a result.. this bloke will do a lot of damage with that leg of his.. he simply struggles to change his mind when a 2nd or 3rd option is a better choice.

After watching the replay at home, his game after quarter time was better than I initially gave him credit for.

He seems to start really, really slowly for some reason. But picked things up from the quarter time break. Probably stiff to miss out on a Didaka Medal vote in the end from myself.

Bull of a kid with a lovely left foot, love that he takes the game on even if he does stuff it up now and then.
I get a little annoyed at some of the criticism, would much rather see Brayden taking a chance and making a mistake than doing dinky little 20m chip kicks.
He has the ability to break open the play,an asset not all players possess and should be encouraged to use it.
I can't fault his effort and believe the consistency will come

I just don't see him as a mid. His skills scream defender to me. I dont think he has the mindset for mid and his strengths are better used down back. I think he benefits from having 1 opponent to start his focus on and seeing the ground ahead of him.

Heath Shaw was one where people thought he should transition to the midfield.
