Lol what, forgive me for being confused of how you came to this
It should be alright. I'm hearing we've squeezed a third round selection out of Melbourne as compensation.Been a gun player for us for quite a few years now.
Such a shame he'll be lost to us. This club is imploding.
Fish rots at the head.
By saying, "I'd love to stay at Collingwood", leaves the possibility open to him going...
When he is doing training away from the club at an organisation with links to Melbourne players and management, months after rumours started about him leaving for Melbourne.....
Its a fair conclusion to come too...

Any Player could Potentially Leave
Of course. How many players his age have come out a year before his biggest contract of their career and said “Yeah, I’ll be staying, don’t worry about trying to recruit me” of course he’s going to leave it with an option to leave.By saying, "I'd love to stay at Collingwood", leaves the possibility open to him going...

Big statement! You mean we may not be getting Nick Daicos anymore, that the effort to discard out top picks was all in vain?! Wow! This is the year that keeps on giving!Of course. Sure, Max Gawn has trained there with fantastic results for his fitness, yes his brother played at Melbourne, we know he’s good mates with Petracca. If you’re getting really good recommendations why wouldn’t you go there? I mean he’s after results on his fitness.
The statement said he lost to the club which indicates he’s going. I guess the main point is where has the definite has come from, is there a chance? Sure. There’s also a chance Nick Daicos doesn’t nominate the pies as a father son
Well yeah, until it’s official there’s always that chance. Similar to there’s a chance a high quality 24 year old looking for the biggest pay day of his career might leave.Big statement! Have heard that GW + the club loves Maynard and wants to extend beyond 2022.
Sticking point is BM is on around 800k in 2022 and GW wants to extend early and smooth out money over the extension/bring his expectation of cash down for 2023 and beyond.
BM doesn't want to A, lose out on Money B, Be forced out like AT was and C, Accept that he should come down from his 800k.
Difference from this year to last is that GW & club don't want to trade BM but also arnt willing to offer the 800k he is on in 2022 from 23 and beyond.
Basically this non story is a scare tactic from BM management with $$ the major sticking point beyond 2022.
Have heard he back-ended a lot of his money to cover for our cap. The way I was told, he certainly wasn't on 800k for the duration of his contract but is specifically for 2022.FMD... 800k for Maynard. Who wasn’t on overs at Collingwood?
If all these players aren’t willing to take some cuts moving forwards to right the ship and build a flag capable list, then move them on. Moore, Degoey, Maynard are all on 800kish and out of contract end of next year. At this point enough’s enough, if all they want is money, let them go. Grundys contract has created all this. Every player wants his money. I’m backing GW in, the bleeding must stop

Agreed the squeeze isn't quite finished. That sort of thing must be what GW is referring to when saying that we still have a cap hangover.
We all love him, but agree he is worth around $600-650k imo.FMD... 800k for Maynard. Who wasn’t on overs at Collingwood?
Agreed - in the position we find ourselves we can't be bent over a barrel - even if it means an extra season in the finals wilderness. We all love him, but agree he is worth around $600-650k imo.

No quick fix bullsh@t, get the bottom line completely solid then start moving forward.
We will at least learn who wants to play for team success and who wants to feather their own nests at the expense of their team mates.IF That bad I can't see us keeping all of Maynard/De Goey/Moore IF we still have a Tight Salary Cap
To be fair,we only lose players that we don’t want to keep,or want to get rid of because of our salary cap position.I can’t think of one player who left the club in recent years that we actually wanted to keep.Every year a player leaves that we are surprised at.
Been following this thread and to me sounds ominous
Quite worried tbh
Dayne Beams when he went to Brisbane? To be fair,we only lose players that we don’t want to keep,or want to get rid of because of our salary cap position.I can’t think of one player who left the club in recent years that we actually wanted to keep.
No I don’t think we wanted to keep Thomas and Freeman and Nathan Brown, all injury plagued or past their prime.Beams is probably the only one that left that we actually wanted to keep, but then again he was always the exception to the rule.Dayne Beams when he went to Brisbane?
They try and keep dale Thomas and Nathan freeman?
Nathan Brown?
