Brett Anderson's Mock draft

Yet to see an Eagles supporter actually name the superstar midfielders in the making that they should take with their shotgun drafting approach.
You don't need superstars to improve your list. You need them eventually but you wont fnd them in rvery draft. The eagles aren't going to fix their list in one draft, what they can do is take steps to help provide support for the likes of Duggan and Venables.

I get that people think this draft is shallow, but picking a bunch of forwards isn't going to make their team any better.

I get why eagles fans don't want Allen. Local lad but the eagles need the next Sloane or Hannebery (lateish picks mind you) not the next LeCras or Darling.

It'd be a crime to waste arguably one of the most talented ruckmen in years.

Likes only became a thing like 5 or 6 years ago (maybe longer). So The Gun probably has 4-5 years of posting before likes were added so I wouldn’t be using that as a basis for your argument.
Its very easy to get likes if your not constantly stopping people from talking sh!t and not confrontational - Me on the other hand like to be in peoples face and pulling them up on their comments.

e.g - Prior to the trade period go onto the Brisbane board and put up an argument where people who believe schache is worth a top 5 selection and post that people who think he is worth 2 2nd rounders are delusional and just flogs trolling - Bingo 20 likes

Likes mean Jack

I feel like you're sort of proving my point by not naming any of the midfielders that could help the Eagles that will be available after pick 20.

If you read the entire post you can quite clearly see that the "likes" portion is only 1 prong of a multifaceted argument.

You're right i didn't read the whole post because once you started suggesting your like ratio was higher I stopped reading as you came across as someone who bases too much on validation from others.

Going back and reading it now the whole concept was based around likes. You post more, have a greater like ratio therefore your posts are of better quality and the gun is only 64% as good a poster as you.

Mate if you really believed in your bet you would put your money where your mouth is. An avatar bet is the $5 bet i make with my kid brother knowing i'll never have to pay him so there is nothing really riding on it.

Because I'm not a draft expert nor do I have a time machine to know which midfielders will be available in the 20s. All I know is there will be midfielders drafted in the 20s.
You're remaining painfully neutral on this topic so I will switch to an adjacent one. What did you think of the trade that got them all the second rounders at the cost of moving down what will probably be a top 10 pick to what will probably be pick 20ish

Gold coasts second next year probably won’t be far off west coasts first. So huge win for West Coast

Potentially. Without Mitchell and Priddis though their midfield will be raw and lacking grunt. Could finish quite low if injury struck.
I also think that 2nd rounders in this draft aren't particularly valuable.

Painfully neutral? More like practical and honest. Their midfield is arguably one of the worst in the league.

As for the trade, seemed fine to me; the eagles have a number of holes in their list which these picks will help address. And the best draft pick they're giving up will probably be in the low 10s anyway given Naitanui is back.

They wouldn't be the first team to find gems in weak drafts. If the likes of Richmond, whose drafting history is far from perfect can find players late in the national draft and in the rookie draft, surely the eagles can find them in the 20s.

Yeah that eagles midfield sucks! They should do something about it.... like drafting some midfielders.
They'll grab Tim Kelly which will be a great start. Hunter Clark at 13 would be the dream. I think he'll be a gun. Other than that they should just go for the players they rate the highest. Maybe they'll pull the trigger on Worpel; he'd certainly add grunt.

13: Allen
21: Kelly
26: Stoddart
32: Starcevich
39: Ryan

Think they should get Constable at 21 or Walpole at 39 but feel this is most likely
Walpole is lovely this time of year.
