Kerr at no stage of his career has ever been the Eagles best player.

No where have I contradicted my self. The fact that Kerr was better when Judd and Cousins was here, goes without saying.
I mentioned that I'd rather take picks for Kerr, rather than do a straight swap for Deledio as someone else suggested. Hence the comment I made.

Kerr is in a form slump, that's all. Kerr has shown that he can still take a game by the balls at times this year.

You're an A-grade moron if you think Kerr is crap. You don't know what your on about.

I'm well aware that no one will be giving up 1st round picks this year. Someone, I can't remember who, said regarding Kerr that they'd do a straight swap for Deledio. I said I'd rather take picks for Kerr. I said this because it'd be my preference if any deal was to be made regarding Kerr. It was a hypothetical. It was said knowing it wasn't going to happen.
 
I have no idea whether Deledio will be available, but make no mistake he is a very good player. Wallace moved him from pillow to post when in fact he is a midfielder and a bloody good one at that. If he becomes available then go for him, absolutely.

But don't entertain getting rid of Kerr, Daniel needs to up the anti if he wants to be a good player consistantly, the simple thing is he does not run hard enough and cover enough ground to show off his talent.
Of course he was better when Judd and Cousins were there, as it turns out about 20 blokes were all better but Kerr can play. Other good players can break free enough of tags to still be influential and they don't rate as highly as Kerr some of then. Work harder Daniel and the rewards will come.

As for trades for Deledio, I am available to drop Hansen and Staker off at the airport.

Mitch Brown + First-round draft pick

I would take McKinley and a first-round but he is too similar to Morton/JR.

We need small crumbers though, perhaps Lecras + first-round.

This is the hard thing about it, Richmond won't take fringe players who can't get a game for a struggling WC side, they would want a young prospect like Brown + a draft pick but you will not want to give that up more than likely.
 
Quality outside attacking mids are what we need. Problem is that for the price we could get him (ie our first pick), we could also pick up a youngster with similar attributes, like morabito or lucas. A coach struggling to keep his job would make the swap, but I would prefer lucas honestly.
If, god forbid, we had a PP, with picks 2, 4 and 20, then i would consider pick 4+sweetener (rosa?) for Deledio+2nd round(21/22).
Deledio is probably worth a little bit more than that, but considering the value that will be placed on this years draft, especially with midfield talents like lucas and scully floating around, i doubt you would get much better.
Then perhaps package 20 and 21/22 for a mid first rounder, then nab jetta.

That's the kind of deals Richmond would be asking for. You have to remember he was a number #1 draft pick in a decent draft, is only 22 (Same kind of age as your core group of players), he has super skills, very quick, great mark and he is suited to Subiaco. Only way you will get him is with a first-round + young promising player. What kind of trade would you do for Deledio?
 
Thats the major problems with trading these days. Noone except Freo seem to fall for the old dud trades...

No way will anyone wants Hansen. Someone may want Staker but at best hes worth a 2nd round pick. Which as mentioned if we wanted Deledio its gonna cost us at least a 1st + 2nd round pick or similar class players.

Eagles wont be looking to give up any of our up-n-comers especially Le Cras and M Brown.

If we get the PP then say our 2nd pick(ie 4)+ Staker for Deledio would be the closest I could imagine the Eagles willing to give up while probably below what the tigers want isnt too bad. Stakers not a spud just inconsistent.

Come to think of it I would give McKinley and a first rounder.
 
A little overrated, but I'd love him at the Eagles.

I would do that deal too. I think a fwd line of:

Lids Kennedy LeCras
Notte Lynch/Brown Yet to be drafted small Fwd

Looks very good. A lot better than with McKinley in. LeCras and Deledio rotating through the midfield and forward line would give Kerr some great support and be great people to feed the ball out to. Fantastic users of the ball LeCras and Deledio.

I wouldn't give up LeCras and first rounder though. Way too much. How about we finish second last, he goes into the PSD, but Melb can't pick him up because they can't afford him, so we get him for free in the PSD?? One can only dream.
 
The previous premiership was built around the drafting of gun young players early and then in closer years the trading of first round picks for gun senior players in Chick and Stenglein. A trade for Deledio would fit this mould completely and result in the first real steps towards becoming a force again.

Deledio can swing from HB thorugh a wing to HF. He provides great pace, excellent skills and most importantly a bridge between the older blokes and the young guns in experience. Exactly the type of trade we should be moving heaven and earth to make.

That's how I see it too, but I don't think we are ready to pick the "top-up" players just yet. I think we should keep getting players via the draft, especially considering the GC draft impact.

Richmond don't need another forward they need a Ruckman and were interested in Seaby last year.

richmond offerred pick 26 but we wanted more ????

If we want to Trade a forward it should be with the bulldogs or Carlton -but i don't like carltons chances.
 
Richmond won't be wanting a ruckman anymore, I think they would be feeling quite happy with the way Graham and Vickery are coming along.

I was thinking exactly this when I suggested McKinely + pick 4/5.

Other players to consider instead of McKinely would be Spanger (bracing for impact:o), Schofield, Rosa, Nicoski;):D, Staker, Seaby.

Mitch Brown is going no where thanks very much.:)

Exactly and had a best and fairest to his name at 21. Is a quality player and in order to get someone like this, We need to give something decent.

You get that on this board sometimes, Staker would be lucky to get a 2nd rounder and Hansen is even further behind. Both of these players have little or no trade value.

The only trade that you mentioned that i would entertain is McKinley and a 1st rounder for Deledio.

Brown and especially LeCras are off limits IMO.
