Why would he shave it, though? It sounds stupid, but in a game of inches, you've got the boys psychologically motivated and enjoying themselves with the beard fun and games.

Doesn't seem like there's much to gain by shaving it. Emblematic of a bad week of decisions for the club.

Sure Was. Lost at selection table and Terrible Gameday Coaching

Rubbish mate.

Injuries have cruelled us. Cox out hurt us today. Dunn on Kennedy, Treloar running out of stoppages, Elliott and Fas as dangerous small forwards... should I go on.

But we still trust in the Beard.

Shaving it off represented him having won the bet, so it was actually a salute to the players.
Looks like they’ll have to create another wager:)

Tomorrow morning review should be...

Buckley: "I won't shave until you lose"

The other omen/thing to consider is club celebrations 125 years etc, this week it was our 1958 premiership with the team and cup greeting the players as they ran out. Obviously not the same player involvement as our 125 year, but we never seem to win when a cup features at the run out.

Well spotted barrackers. Another bad omen was me being confident we'd win, and saying so on here. I wasn't even nervous before the game.:(

I think other causes include most of The Age experts picking us; and Eagles fans visiting our Board last week and being pleasant and respectful. Why did they have to do that? Its much better when the opposition fans behave like arrogant tossers. We inevitably win when that happens.:D

So I can pencil in a win for round 19 then.
