I'm not scared of any team now, and I doubt either are MM and his merry men.

That performance today was better then it looked, against a side that has pushed both Stkilda and Geelong to within a kick over the past 4 weeks.

We pulverized Sydney in that second half, and if we had of kicked straight (damn wind) we would have won by 80 points.

Bring em all on, we will face and crush anyone, starting with the Dogs next week.

Don't relax, dont rest players for the sake of rest next week, play 22 fit players and destroy the dogs like we were going to do before Fraser got injured last week.

We have the deepest midfield, the strongest defense and a forward line that can't be figured out by anyone.

We are not afraid of anyone, BRING EM ALL ON.

You shouldn't be! You're not the one out there on the field. :thumbsu:

But yes, it's excellent form. need to work on accuracy, that cost us last year against the saints in the finals. cant afford easy misses like we did today.

This I believe is THE final piece of the puzzle.
The last 6 weeks we have been wasteful in this regard.
Accurate kicking could have seen us with an insurmountable percentage already.

Get this right next week and I'm going to really start getting excited.

Yeah, we are in good form, but in our good form patch, we haven't played Geelong or St Kilda.

I hope we do smash the Doggies next week, but I want what is best for the team, and if that means resting players, then so be it.

For what it is worth, I don't think we will rest players by dropping anyone, but wiuld rest players if we are up at half time by enough. Then you would start seeing Swan, Pendles, Davis, Didak, Thomas, Beams, and Heath spending more minutes on the bench or deep in the forward line.

I would like to see at least one of the mids rested next week (probably Davis), and bring in workhorse who can just eat up one ground minutes.

As much as I enjoyed watching us win again, our kicking was too attrocious. If it was against a better side in a higher scoring game, we would have lost it. By the end of the game we amassed 19 points, most of which could have been goals. Some terrible misses directly in front of goal again.

Is anyone else notcing that Medhurst is playing prodominantly selflessfooty? He seems to want to pass it off to someone else in 50 any chance he gets instead of going for a goal these days.

Good on Jack for getting a bunch of goals after those first few misses, though.

A side effect of his inaccuracy but at same time proof of his team orientated mindset.
All good.

I also thought we fumbled the footy a lot today, spilling chest marks, mishitting handballs, and not picking the ball up cleanly... This may be due to Sydney's pressure, but if we play like this in Sept we are toast.

Good job though Pies - history has shown that in form teams win the flag, and we are the in form team of the comp.

A side effect of how Sydney play I think.
They are not renown for shutting down sides and tying the game up with man on man pressure for nothing.
In the end we beat them at their own game and eventually broke the shackles and played our way.

As we have done several times before.

I think the poor disposal and just general ball handling skills was probably both a reflection of the pressure that Sydney put us under as well as well as the blustery conditions.

Still, it speaks volumes about our progress that in spite of these misgivings we comfortably beat a quality outfit who has taken it right up to the top two teams in the competition. Mind you, we have a habit of beating Sydney whatever the circumstances.

Anyway, I also say "bring it on". Since the Hawthorn loss we haven't looked back and structurally we look a lot more well organised. Our defence is rock solid at the moment, as a unit it is just sensational, the communication is so good it's as if they are reading eachother's minds, Maxwell is just excelling in his role of general down back.

Looking forward to finals, whoever we play in the first round I would go into the match with a great deal of confidence. It would be the icing on the cake if we were to continue our run next week against the Bulldogs.

We now have a real right to be confident.

Yeah I don't mind playing either Geelong or Saints first week of the Finals. We're going to have to beat both of them most likely to win the flag, doesn't matter what order it is done in.

Will be interesting to see if having a tough Round 22 will steel us for the Finals or wear us out. Saints have the bye (Dees)

Don't be surprised if the Dee's do us a favour there.
Even if they just run them ragged.

I have never been as excited as I am for the finals in my 21 years of supporting Collingwood than I am now. Right now I am listening to 'Take No Prisoners' by Megadeth, this lyric fits Collingwood perfectly "Take no prisoners, take no shit!" Take no prisoners Collingwood, smash the Doggies from the first bounce (just don't get reported :D)

Bring on the finals!

GO PIES!!!

Well to thrash the saints you are assuming the cats wont make it. At your own peril.
you wont and we can and will beat you

Why should we be worried at all, all the finals we play in WILL be at the MCG.

Last time I checked, Geelong, W.Bulldogs and Stkilda dont play there too often.

The MCG is an oval, Docklands is an egg shaped ground unlike any football ground in Australia.

We are an outdoors side, the only other side that seems to play well outdoors is Geelong, but that's mainly on their own little dungheap that no one else ever sees before they play on it.

Bring em all on, we will beat them, one at a time, starting with the dogs next week, who we will show up as pretenders.:thumbsu:

I agree... on the mcg we can beat saints!! And will.

We have a better record at the G than the Dome. We did alright in Canberra Darwin Brisbane and once at Subiaco. Indoors or outdoors has no bearing on the quality of game we dish up.

Given Collingwood will go into the next game big favourites I don't see how beating us makes us look like pretenders however if we beat you then I think people would be questioning your capability to win the big one.
