Roast Bringing down the Scum

I was so disappointed in some Carlton supporters last night at the Gabba. A new club with new supporters to the game that we are trying to grow and I see these filth supporters giving it non stop to new supporters of the game old people and families included on the recieving end.

1.) They beat a team filled with players who have not played at this level before

2.) Carlton may have won by a lot but they still made a lot of errors that a side like the pies will capitilise and crush

3.) Unveiling the flag will be oh so more satisfying this week.

4.) Suggesting how shit the opposistion team is coming from a side that has been at the bottom of the ladder for most of the past decade due to their cheating salary cap breaches really was the pot calling the kettle black.

There is nothiong wrong with friendly banter but these w***ers really pissed me off. My favourite call was when they were calling the Gold Coast kids chokers, this from a club that went out in straight sets in finals 2 years running after holding big leads.

I just hope when Collingwood supporters come up for the game up here they show a bit more respect to oppostion supporters.

Ask anyone who regularly attends games, and they will tell you that by far Carlton supporters are the worst in the AFL.

They are sore losers (had some practice at it recently) and very arrogant winners, to the point where they get violent and abusive towards opposition supporters and obviously the players as well.

I have been to plenty of Anzac day clashes and been to both winning and losing games. One thing I noticed is I have never seen a supporter bagging the piss outta rookies or had a go at young families who were in attendance. Was one of the most disgraceful crowds I have ever seen.

I never really appreciated a high hate for Carlton but now the passion is higher then ever.

There was a Gold Coast supporter their who to put it politically correct was "special" and they were giving him shit as well. Such poor poor form.

I would just love to see the faces of these tossers when we smash them this week

Here Here. I live in Brisbane and was at the races yesterday and there were a bunch of them there with their Carlton Supporter gear on (seriously who goes to the Races in footy gear). And they were behaving badly then, so I am really not surprised how they behaved at the footy last night.

It will be nice this Friday to bring this poor excuse of an AFL team back down to earth and then pummel them into the earth.

The decent supporters from all clubs probably hate the lowlife supporters from their own clubs, more than those from other clubs, just because of the bad name they give to all of us. Yes, we have our bad element, but Carlton are worse, their "average" supporter is worse then any one elses, let alone their "bad element".

I have a Richmond supporting mate, and he had to take his 4 year son home at 3/4 time in round 1 because of the abuse around him, yet he says he's never had any trouble at any other game ever, or at least to that extent.

They are worse, that is clear to most.

And the supporters that the OP are talking about last night are not the "hangers on", they would be the type who travel interstate, and having traveled a bit with the pies faithful, I can say I have never seen any problems interstate with our supporters.

Sorry, but I won't take comparisons between our 2 sets of supporters, yes every club has a few morons, but Carlton take the cake for the highest percentage of their fans being morons.

Agreed I despise Carlton as a club but to brand any club as a natural home for lowlifes is not on. Known a few 'scum' supporters in my time they have always been arrogant and passionate but I've always found them decent - albeit grossly misled

In the end they are just another hurdle in the way of us getting another flag. Don't forget Brisbane started out just like the GC did all those years ago, and with the help of the AFL they were piggy backed to two GF wins over our team.

No sympathy for these pansies, they are a soulless corporate entity built entirely to increase the AFL's coffers. We had more than enough teams in the AFL as it was, instead of supporting the clubs already struggling to make ends meet though, we introduced two more.

Hope the Carlton supporters gave them hell last night because you can bet they won't be feeling any sympathy for our clubs when they start to dominate.

Carlton are still dirty, cheating scum though, don't get me wrong but ripping on Gold Coast 'fans' certainly isn't one of the things that makes me despise them.

Think it's possibly fair to say there's some excellent people who support both clubs, and some shocking ferals that support both clubs.

Don't think that's stretching the realms of credibility too far.

Both sets of supporters are very passionate and that's how you'd want it to be.

I grew up with the Collingwood - Carlton rivalry & I am rapt & excited that the fiercest rivals in Australian sport are currently 1-2 on the ladder & can't wait until Friday night! I am married to a Collingwood "feral" & have had to put up with plenty over the past few years. I agree with a few other posters here that every team has their shocking supporters & I have seen people supporting both Collingwood & Carlton that have disgusted me. I remember getting spat at when I was 8 years old at Vic Park, & I could easily hold a grudge! However, I know that the majority of supporters are there to enjoy the atmosphere & the football, & there will always be a moronic element out there supporting all teams. Bring on 90,000 on Friday night & hopefully an improving Blues team can be very competitive, I think we will be.
