After extensive ratings and study I reckon 6 can possibly win it, and will
be going in like this:

1. Penthaton
2. Ice Chariot
3. Grand Zulu
-------------------------
4. Mandela
5. Newport
6. Zavite

Sticking with my top 3 raters as the main 3 chances to win.

Penthaton is the slight standout for me and gets virtually all the ticks where most should be looking for a winner.

I reckon Ice Chariot is really peaking for something big tomorrow. No doubt costly over the last year but got a feeling the caller will be mentioning this horse in the last 200m. He'll be coming home with wings IMO.

Grand Zulu is actually my top rater, gets most of the ticks for me where I am looking for a winner and reckon if he
doesn't win he'll be within 2-3 of the winner at worst, and Steven Arnold on in terrific form.

Obviously Mandela is right up there with a big chance but I cannot have my 4th rater at $3.50 in a 20 horse field.
But will definitely include in multiples along with Newport and Zavite.

Give small chances to a couple of others but you can't back them all!

Based on a good track though, and will make changes if the status of the track differs tomorrow.

Good luck lads :thumbsu:

Mandela has these covered for class IMO & the 2400m is perfect.
Also has Beadman & barrier 2 so the $4 at Betfair looks ok.

Pentathon's WFA form looks good but it may be a little flattering, think he would actually prefer 2 miles & a bit wetter.
Gotta respect Accumulate simply for the Cummings factor, best roughie is Game On who beat Mandela home, the last bit is the problem.
The rest have way too many convictions for mine, although I dont know the other Kiwis like Lilakyn?

Keep going back to Mandela's Spring efforts, awesome at Geelong & was in front in the Cup at the 350m.Most of these would have been gasping by then.

Looking forward to the TJ Smith too.

How can Gold Edition be favourite over the 1600m in the QLD Guineas??

Yep, definitely taking Goldy on again today.
Has a habit of getting beaten over 1300m+ lately.

Steps up to 1600m, 2nd run in 2 days!!! Take it on for sure.
Not sure who I'll back yet though. Haven't done my ratings yet.

I hate going out in the 1st leg of the quaddie. Had J'Adane in it and I thought it was gonna go past Sequential Charm. It wasnt too be. Surely thats it now for Gold Edition until the spring?
You would expect so, I don't understand how the owners/trainers think she can run the 1600 and have a chance? Today is a tipping nightmare, all ruffies are getting up everywhere... I got knocked out at MV in the first leg by Kitz Lane
