Only Positive in the match so far, could get a rising star nomination if he keep going the way he's going. 11 possesions and almost snapped a goal not bad for his first half of AFL

He was good, threw himself at the ball. May be one of those players that performs at AFL level and not WAFL.

Liked him alot.

I think he showed last night he will be wasted in the back pocket

Yep.

Hes good as a back pocket type player at Peel but he has the pace and ability to play in Midfield for you guys and thats where i think you need to play him. Or off a half back flank.

Pre-draft there were serious doubts on him ever getting the fitness to play midfield. One the reasons why he slid down the order. Could develop a tank through preseasons, so I'm not sure where recruiters were coming from.

Nothing like that at all. Just had chronic hamstring problems for most of the draft year. The question mark was whether his hammies were up to it.

So far this year he's played most of the year without injury. He missed most of preseason getting them right.

He was touted top 10 before the hammies went ping.

I think he needs another pre-season of bulk work to ensure he can play his type of game. That is hit in the pack at pace and knock blokes over before running into space.

Hasnt really kicked on at Peel because he hasnt realised he isnt one of the big boys who can bust a tackle.

Give him 5 kilo and he will be a starting Docker.

He would be wasted there if we had a plethora of quick, rugged back pocket types. At the moment we have only Hayden as a back pocket specialist (with Thorton and Duffield pinch-hitting at times, although I prefer to see them play on mid-sized forwards).

Brock could be extremely valuable as an accountable back-pocket dynamo, as it would free up Hayden, Thornton and Black to run and create out of defense, and maybe even allow us to scrap the spare man-in-defence in favour of playing an extra midfielder.

...and yet we have a guy here who looks quick has good disposal and is a hard nut...
Wasted in a back pocket if he continues to show what he did last night.

There's plenty of opportunity for a player to shine and contribute to the team in a back pocket.

Hayden is a fair chance for our B and F this year playing out of a back pocket, and I wouldn't say that Gavin Wangerneen was wasted playing in a back pocket at Essendon. He even managed up a Brownlow down there.

The philosophy of hiding dud players in a back (or forward) pocket still applies in under 12's, but it hasn't happened in the big leagues since before Sheedy was playing.

I was very impressed with him, he put a lot into that game and was ferocious at all times. I think he should be a starter next year!

Funny story, my friends and I played a game last night called "Rookie Raffle" where we pulled one of the new kids names from a hat (Drum, Dunn, Foster, O'brien, Warnock) and whenever that player got a possession you had to drink.

Well, one of my friends didn't want to drink that much so we gave him O'Brien, expecting him to get about 8 possessions. He had 11 before half time and my friend got wasted and puked into a trash can in the city!

With respect mate, I bet I know a whole lot more about his junior career than you.

Yes he did have injuries issues but his endurance and attitude were the question marks.

He was never going to top 10. More like top 30.

And who are you?

His attitude I agree with. A-grade Douche Bag.

Definately, I know we need to find a couple of midfielders but we need another stopper down back. Most teams have 2 or 3 quality small/medium forwards who need to be stopped. Thornton is injury prone and Black and Mundy are unaccountable. If O'Brien or Dunn can step into that role they will become a very valuable part of our line up.
