Just throwing up another option here but we have access to a guy named Jordan Bourke in this years draft as part of our zone selections. He is a tall forward at 193cm with great speed and agility, likely to go somewhere in the second round if he wasn't a zone pick. We have the option of trading this guy on, and this is something we have done in the past. So there may be the possibility of throwing him into some sort of deal.
With our reducing list size we would need to trade two players to bring in Broughton, Toy and Hine are the most likely and their combine worth would be somewhere around a last first rounder early second rounder.
I think if this rumour is true it wont happen until tomorrow, Ashcroft has already stated that we will go to the draft with 13 and that our 3 compo picks will be progressively used over the next 3 years.

Well none of us know what is goin to happen, the youngster you mentioned wont get the deal done alone. Broughton is contracted, so in order for someone to get him, good payment will have to be made

Damien Bourke's son? No idea what he is worth but if Geelong passed over him then he is probably not 2nd round material. It sounds to me like you guys may not be taking him due to list management.

Broughton consistantly beat Johnson, hands down on most occasions, and he did it to other players also.

But he didn't. Johnson still got two goals. The best example of a small defender doing that is the jobs Steven Baker would do against players Johnson, who would regularly get zero goals and a handful of touches whenever Baker played on him.

I'm a big Broughton fan, but anyone suggesting pick 13 as a straight swap is dreaming. A small/medium defender yet to play 100 games who turns 27 next year, and appears on the outer with his new coach isn't worth a pick in the teens.

Exactly this. I'm amazed people think otherwise. If we get any higher than pick 20 we're laughing.
