Browne to Debut

Former West Perth utility player Steven Browne is to make his senior debut for Carlton in Saturday's match against Adelaide at the MCG.
Browne, taken at selection 36 in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft, will be the 1113th player to represent the Blues. He is one of three changes to Carlton's 22-man team which accounted for Melbourne by 33 points last Sunday at the MCG.
Also named in the team is Adam Hartlett and Bryce Gibbs, the latter having overcome a week-long absence with a back spasm.
Out is Jordan Bannister, who has succumbed to a hamstring injury, with Adam Bentick and Setanta O'hAilpin omitted.

They obviously feel that Russell has the attributes to be a good AFL footballer (and he does, he just doesn't have the brain). Bentick is on the outer due to Hadley's arrival at the club. It's unfortunate because i personally rate Bentick.

Totally agree.. Russ has done some very good work off the ball in the last few weeks too. His attack on the ball has been good but it's things like shepherds, blocks and dummy leads that are important to the forward line structure also. Seriously people watch the whole game... and FFS get behind the players, especially the young guys who at one point or another it's been stated that Pagan shot their confidence.

Next week we'll be calling for Browne's head because he only had 10 touches, but he's done a job on his opponent.... C'mon guys!!

Very happy with the changes. Only heard good things on Browne. Bentick I have never been a fan of, Setanta needs to go recapture some form, happy with all of the 3 changes. Hopefully Hartlett can present well to be a link to Fisher, Fev and co.
