Honestly, if the brownlow medal automatically went to to the best player every year there wouldn't be a betting market for it. I'm sure that's a hell of a lot of money for all of the industries involved.

For anyone who says they lost respect for the award today, grow up- the MVP, coaches award, herald-sun award (!)... are all more respectable in terms of rewarding the deserving players.

I thought Twigley spoke well about Cousins, Kerr and Cox.

Judd in 2010 joins the likes of

2008 Adam Cooney (should have been Ablett)
2006 Adam Goodes (should have been Judd)
2004 Chris Judd (Should have been Tredrea or Riewoldt)
2003 Adam Goodes
2000 Shane Woewodin (Should have been McLeod or Koutafidies)
1998 Robert Harvey (Should have been Wayne Carey)
1995 Paul Kelly (Should have been Gary Ablett)
1993 Gavin Wanganeen ( Should have been Gary Ablett)
1992 Scott Wynd (Should have been Jason Dunstall)
1990 Tony Liberatore (Should have been Darren Milane or Tony Shaw)

with farcial brownlow wins.

Would have saved time if you just mentioned the ones YOU thought were right. Funny every dogs player who got a brownlow shouldn't have, yet you missed out Chris Grant in 1997 who was suspended ridiculously. Harvey winning in 1998 was ok but he was not the true winner in 1997.

Pretty damn dissapointing night, I think; there were a lot of players that deserved it more than Judd.

Oh well, I'm not that annoyed by it: I'd much rather my team had a shot at the GF than win the Brownlow.

Jokelow Medal. But I guess we shouldn't expect any different.
Edit: One positive was looking At Eddie's face, his misery brings me joy.

3 things that i learnt watching the Brownlow

1) Judd speaks as well as any footballer i've ever seen

2) Bec Twigs seems pretty down to earth for a glamour

3) I came to the realisation that seeing Eddie with the shits gives me absolute joy and is one of my favourite things in the world......But he is the sort of character that makes the game more colourful and i'd miss him if he wasn't around

To be honest, I'm not terribly upset about the result. Don't get me wrong I would have loved to see Swan (or Pendles who also did wonderfully well finishing equal 4th on 21) win as it would have been a great reward for a great year, but both players have bigger fish to fry this week, and much more important medal (or two) to win and with neither winning the brownlow both can get early nights and put all their concentration onto the Grand Final. Congratulations to Chris Judd, he more so won due to the fact that he was clearly the dominant player in his team, and he did lead his team to a finals birth.

It is also a good omen for those who believe in such for the Pies. In 1990 we had a player (Graeme Wright from memory although I do stand to be corrected as I was only 7 at the time) who got agonisingly close to the Medal but did not win, and we all know what happened that year :D

Any way congratulations again to Chris on a great year, and lets go Collingwood for the big one!

Great effort by Jobe Watson. Essendon just didn't win enough games for him to be a real contender. But anyway, that might shut up a few of the "Watson is a dud" comments on here. Or perhaps not.

Well I knew none of my guys had a chance tonight but I also hope we have a cracking game on Saturday!

Don't worry Chris. You will soon get the gist when you hear me and thousands of pies supporters booing your brownlow medal win on your lap before the game. I'll be booing the loudest, you wont get a single clap from me because A) you of all players do not deserve it and should have been rubbed out and B) you were not anywhere near the best player for the year.

This sentiment is shared by plenty more people than just pies supporters.

I am gutted, Swan looked gutted and Collignwood should be gutted and angry. But at the end of the day a GF medallion will make up for everything.

Absolute BS.

Judd wont care because he is a 2 time Brownlow medallist and you are a Pies supporter.

Actually I think most of its "blah blah Swan blah blah blah or even Gablett with his cheap possesions blah blah" more than Lenny and I am one of them, now if you want me to start on the AA then I will "blah blah Lenny blah blah" for you :D

Lenny Hayes and Simon Black seem to alternate between being everyone's favourite players, and the best blokes on earth, who deserve all the individual accolades, but somehow get "cheated" or "robbed" due to "well known factors" like the perennial "Judd conspiracy". The Lions were rubbish this year, so it was Lenny's turn, wasn't it?

this man is to blame ppl

The "win" by judd just confirms that the umpires have lost the ability to understand Australian Football.
