Toast Bryce Gibbs Appreciation Thread

Listening to the way Gibba was choking back the tears on the radio it’s so clear he loves the club from the bottom of his heart.

Have no doubt if his kids are ever eligible for F&S he’d love nothing more than them getting to the blues.

Now go and play less than 100 games and make lots of babies...

And if you have second thoughts when you see what we do in the next couple of years and want a piece then you’d be most welcome back.

Well, it's been a fun 12 months guys. For 11 years I have been green with envy watching him run around for you. I was heartbroken when he signed his last contract and when the deal fell through last year dismayed.
When the dust settles, I think that this will go down as a pretty even trade, looks good for you guys on paper but it gives both what we need. If we nail next years draft then we could have some pretty good contests in 2020.
Lets hope that he gets 100 games in the tri colours :)

PS. Your side will be scary in about 3 years good to see, you're my fav out of melbs fab 4.

Man that interview was hard to watch. I properly started barracking for the Blues right around the time when we were at our lowest point and not too long afterwards guys like Murph and Gibba got drafted to the club and I absolutely have loved watching them play over the years. It will be sad to see Bryce in Crows colours next year however I hope for his sake (along with Sauce and Eddie) that the Crows can find some success next year. Even with the trade falling through last year he showed his commitment to the club and put in a terrific year and should be commended for that.

Lauded him enough over the years.

Favourite Gibbs moment......that game against Port, Round 23 2013.....last quarter, frantic mayhem, ball pops out, Gibbs, gets it, takes the bounce, smashes it home........Carlton make the finals....and I was there!!

Utterly lost my marbles.

Love him!!

Stick fat Anzac. I grew up watching champions like Sticks, Williams, SOS, Braddles, Kouta, Ratten, Murphy & Gibbs. I know this is hard however i know that this is the right decision for our club moving forward and sustained success is not far away.

Just watched Bryce interview. I shed a tear watching him speak. He has given our club his all and I hope one day he will return to our club. I wish bryce all the best and hope the supporters do too.
Yes I was choking up I must confess. For a bloke whos been pretty stone-faced and just got on with it, he really showed how much the club meant to him in that interview. I really want to wish him all the best and thank him for being such a pro throughout his career and last year especially.
Will be genuinely sad to see him go.

He had to be. He tried to walk out of a 5 year heavily front loaded deal after only 2 years. His heart does bleed blue though.

He asked for a trade and didn't drop his head when it didn't come to fruition. He played his arse off this year. It's not like he ****ed us over like Henderson.

Absolutely. I'm very excited by the direction the club is going in and love the young talent we've brought in over the last few years. We are really setting ourselves up for the future with the talent we've got developing at the moment and like the club I am enjoying the journey at the moment towards #17.

I just remember that one game where he absolutely gave it his all and won us a very tight game. A player was getting interviewed and you could see gibbs in the background throwing up. That game sticks out to me as the game where gibbs gained my full respect. I will miss him. Hope to see him return to us to finish off his career where he started, just like ablett.

Love his Insta post where he says he will always be a blue bagger and will continue to support and follow the Carlton football club.
Reckon he has endeared himself to the baggers faithful even more.
All class Gibba. Good luck

Man, when he was choking up in that interview talking about the club and his mates and the well wishes he got, and how hard it was. Nearly lost my shit myself.

Difficult year for him after last year, cameras in his face constantly, dealing with that pressure of the failed trade.

Professional through and through.

You sometimes forget that he's still a young man at just 28 years of age, with a young child, living in a professional sporting fishbowl and dealing with some important decisions, involving not just his career, but also family, partner and mates.

Im guilty of missing the human side myself sometimes. There are real human beings here, living inside this crazy made up thing we call football.
