O’Meara didn’t have patella tendinopathy, he ruptured it.

As far as you are aware. Lets not pretend that Buckley resigned....he was pushed and the club used his personal situation as one of the justifications. The only difference is that it was with Buckleys blessing for the club to mention this.. ie he didnt whinge

True, but doesn't take away from the fact that these two are the coaches of midfield / transition / forward and ball movement. I never suggested that it's wholly and solely these guys fault but a contributor yes. I'm not sure how long these two have been the head assistants, willing to bet they weren't in 18.

Will be interesting to see who replaces Harves as the head assistant and how that person works in with both Sando and Harves.

Pushed? My reading is he was told his contract wouldn’t be renewed. Does that equate to a push? Or is it more an advanced warning?

Same same really in terms of the point I was making. Hes not got his contract renewed and he will finish up after one more game.

My point was just about the irony of the club using his personal living arrangements as one of the justifications for making these decisions.
 
McHale aside, has anyone given more than Bucks' 25 years service with us as a player and coach. Rose and Shaw were around 20 I think.

Some administrators might have?

I sort of want the game to start but not in a weird way.

Great article in HS about him and how he'd buy a meal for a homeless person - and sit with him and eat - that he'd see each time when he'd go for a walk in the CBD.

The homeless person would expect a meal or money each time they met, but Buckley could afford it. Nice gesture.

Licca’s comments suggest Bucks was unable to commit for the requisite 2-5 years the club deemed needed. Says it was much more a mutual and amicable decision than “pushed”. It’s hardly semantics given the implied meaning of “pushed” so happy for you to think differently. His personal circumstance wouldn’t have been an issue for the club if they weren’t for him. Zero irony.

Not so.
I bought a meal for a homeless person and we always say hello to each other when I see him.
He doesn't show any form of disappointment that I don't give him food every time.
Unless of course he gives me the bird behind my back ;)

Ill agree to disagree on this. I highly doubt the club offered Buckley a 2-6 year extension and then Buckley said no. The fact that apparently Buckley said he couldn’t commit to such a tenure is irrelevant because it wasn’t on the table for him anyway

The club wanted the next coach to take us through the next phase.... and that would be a medium term project.... and hence Buckley’s contract was not renewed.

In my second divorce the divorce lawyer smelled blood in the water - I had my own business you see and nothing gets them more excited than that.

They took me for everything I had and then some.

I ended up living in a flop house amid the ashes of my once thriving business and the wreckage of my life's work and dreams.

I climbed back up but that's not the point I'm making.

I was very close to being one of those 'homeless people' that so many shudder at seeing on the street.

From personal experience I can truthfully say 'If you haven't had everything taken from you and thrown out in the street' judge not - it can happen to you.

It can happen to almost anyone.

I never said they offered him a 2-5 year extension, I said it seems what they want going forward. He seems unable to commit to it so removed himself from the table. Still a vastly different thing than being “pushed”.

Unable to commit to what exactly? They wanted a longer term coach and he was not going to be the one. There was nothing on the table for him to not commit to.

Pretty remarkable that two of the most influential and dominant figures in Collingwood's history have departed within 3 months of each other after around 50 years of combined tenure. Certainly a changing of the guard that few of us would have seen before.

Yep. There’s a lot of change going on at the moment.

The unknown can be scary, but I’m also excited about what the future holds.
