2 points from Melbourne and 10 points to Richmond would have done the job.

If either Richmond or Melbourne had won it would have helped our cause as the more teams above us lose the better our cause. Especially teams likely to be around the 8. We missed out by a game or less over 2004 and 2005.

I'm very dirty on Travis Johnson from Melbourne for that pathetic kick out.

I was thinking the same thing mate.... but after 9 rounds we cannot worry about it.... our fate is in our own hands.

We will finish where we deserve to. But yeah, a loss or two to the sides above us wouldn't hurt.

Both games were very entertaining with disappointing results. The roos have been good but I'd like our chances if we were to play them (or the bombers) in a final.

Port are getting smashed by Geelong at AAMI.

The only "Bugger -- 12 points" situation I can see is:

(i) 35 points up against Port at home, ending in a 16 point loss
(ii) Leading against a very average Essendon side 5 mimutes out from 3/4 time, ending in a 10 point loss
(iii) A shellacking at the Gabba from a very average Brisbane side that has since lost at home to Adelaide and Collingwood...

All games we should have won.

There's your 12 points there Ralphie... :(

The first two game sof the season 2007....

Very costworthy losses for us I think. The Bombers were certainly helped by the orange maggots in that game at the dome, however the Power surged and really outplayed us in that mad 15 minutes in the third quarter.

On the bright side - we've moved up two places on the ladder this weekend; we're only one game out of the 8; and two games out of the 4! :o

Nah, I'm never confident against the 'Roos. They just outrun us. Harvey, Wells, Grant carve us up. Harris and Simpson are in career best form. They have some other very quick youngsters.

Points (i) and (ii) are still valid. We also let Saints and Hawthorn back into the games.

I think point (i) is the most important - I think it's what has caused a poor start as they would of been wondering how they let that happen. Still the season still has a few games to go and really it's up to the boys to make it that the poor start won't have an influence to the finals.
