For all of those who are saying "at least he gets the ball", Leigh Matthews had a stat for you on FiveAA not ten minutes ago. Slightly paraphrased, he said that we're going to Burton for 28% of forward thrusts. Compare that to when Fevola was at the Blues, when they went to him approximately 30% of the time...don't think I need to highlight the difference in output between the two here.

We must get value out of him in the form of 4-6 goal bags and plenty of effective disposals if we're going to justify going to him that often. If not then he has to be moved on quick smart from the role that he's playing, maybe even out of the team.

"At least he gets the ball" doesn't cut it right now, not with those stats.

perhaps if Knights, Porplyzia, Tippett and Walker were doing their roles suitably, we wouldn't be forced to go to Burton that often.

While I agree that Burton needs to convert more, I find that stat a little hard to believe. Did Leigh say where he got it from?

Oh what you mean when Craig put Burton in Walker's spot the week after Walker kicked 4 goals?

Yeah, wasn't doing his job.

Walker kicked as many goals as Burton against the Blues, with a tiny fraction of the delivery.

If that stat is true then it is a sad indictment on Walker, Kurt, Porps and Knights and their lack of providing viable options and movement, hopefully they can address that tonight.
