Northeast could kick straight no problems. Yes he had an unusual ball drop but it worked for him. There was a guy who played VFL from WA called Mark Zanotti who also had a shocking action but somehow it worked ok for him. With our Butch it just don't work he is the worst I have seen in 50 years.

Yes but the practice paid off. 5 times all Australian 3 times Coleman winner.Sadly after 6 years butch has gone backwards,it's a shame for both him and the club.

I can see why we drafted him from that video. Its between the ears mate, surely it can come back. Definitely a Northeast type style but now.. as per mulders x-files poster i want to believe
 
Here's one for the old timers, Colin Northcott was one of the most unreliable kicks for goal at league level I've seen. He would kick bags of goals in the twos get a shot in the league side and would kick no more than 2 goals and a bag of points.

Ben Dixon made the point with Butcher that he barely extends his leg when kicking and tends to poke at the ball with a bent leg. It is evident in the U18 highlights package but maybe not as pronounced as it is now.
 
Quick chat on footy classified where gary and hutch were quite sympathetic about butchs kicking. Tried to get Lloyd involved to help him out and was having none of it what so ever. Thought he was too old to change and Lloyd clearly looked disinterested.

Suggested that he should play at Maffra under no pressure.

Sounds like short hamstrings.

I also have short hamstrings. I also can't kick.
Correlation = causation... or something like that.
 
That's part of it but honestly he can almost miss the ball completely with his foot. Even Matthew Nicks joked about him kneeing the ball through for a goal. He does shin a few.

You can't shin a drop kick, maybe Russell could teach him the mechanics and that might help him with his drop punt. Stephen Williams had an interesting ball drop where he almost used a drop kicking action to forcefully guide the ball onto his boot for a drop punt. He was one of the best kicks of a footy going around.

Not many, was competing with the likes of Max James and Randall Gerlach.

Northcott must have found his kicking boot over in WA. His radar was scrambled at Alberton.

That sounds really rude. What a d*ckhead. Then again, I don't respect Lloyd as a character on the field. Or his comments off field. Remember the sh*t he said about Cornes retiring?
 
I didn't think Lloyd looked disinterested he just said he'd need to see Butch at close hand to see if he could help... no one has asked him to come down to alberton obviously that's all I gleamed.

*People like Lyon, Rowe etc. saying delist him is pushing me so fast toward the Butch train it's not funny.. sign him up

Have posted that before a few times, and put up the Barry Cable video of his trick shot handball and doing drop kicks and how dropping it right and kicking thru the ball ties in with kicking a drop punt.

The club has failed Butch in not get him the right kicking coach to do the mechanics and a sports shrink or hypnotist to work on his head issues.
