Can just see Cornsey now, on the phone to Knuckles.

" I told you that forking Port power would kill the SANFL!

"Play to the line!" (but don't you dare win the premiership)

first 1/4 was Junk.
2 1/4 was meh. Moved further up the ground (down back) and kept the ball forward with some good spoils.
2nd half was great
Missed 2 easy goals. And passed to Heath when he should of gone back and taken a shot.
Should've had 8.

making sure your mates get in on the action, lad

So great about the goals, but how did he go reading the ball in flight, thats the one area i want him to improve on

but if he averages 10 goals every 3 games, he should make his way back into the AFL team soon enough

Was leading early and jumping early. His grabs were awkward to watch.
When playing up the ground near the backlines he was reading the ball very well.
He plays very well behind the ball.
I'm an arm chair critic mind you.
There are people on this board, that are a lot better at judging how a bloke played as opposed to me.

Thanks for the reply

If we can get him reading the flight of the ball into packs and inside 50 well it will go long way

If he can keep kicking goals, taking strong marks and playing well for 4 quarters he will be back soon enough.

He was unsighted for 2 quarters vs Glenelg, unsighted for 4 quarters vs Torrens and had 4 touches at the end of the 3rd quarter and goalless I think also against Westies

Who? Can't work that out.

Butcher kicked a couple of goals in the third quarter.

By nature, KPF's don't usually dominate for an entire game. The do their bits in bursts. I'm not bothered that he is doing most of his lifting in a quarter or two. However, I'd like to see him do his lifting in the 1st or 2nd before he gets a recall. This will squash the 'our superior fitness argument'.

I was happy with Butcher's effort today, Obviously there's still the kicking that needs a lot of work but he presented well and looked dangerous. It was nice to see him out on the lead today.

Bring him in next week.

I disagree. We have the perfect balance up forward at the moment. We don't need another tall when you have Wingard, Monfries, Gray, White and the resting midfielders in the forward line.

The way AFL footy is at the moment, you can get away with 2 talls in the forward line. The smalls can create havoc when the footy hits the ground and they are also good on the lead as well.

Pretty good chance that next Saturday night it will either be dewy if the night is clear or it will be wet if it is raining. No point bringing in another tall.

Plus they have no talls atm so we will need all the runners on hand.

I've said it before, but he needs to try out the 'natural arc' approach. Helped him split the middle from 55+ when he burst onto the scene against the Bulldogs.

I say we bring in Butcher to fill Broadbent's role of kicking in. What could go wrong?

Posters will know I am a Butcher supporter, but he still seems a bit off on confidence. Respect his second efforts and pressure. Marked o.k.. His shot og goal still needs some work. Getting there.
